Beauty Advent Calendars

Can you please talk to me about beauty calendars for tweens and teens please. I’ve never been very knowledgeable on makeup and skincare, Ive been trying to better educate myself as my DDs have become very interested in it. I want to get them a beauty advent calendar but not sure what ones are the best that aren’t going to cost too much.

I’ve bought them W7 ones in the past.

They are into all the trending products, Byoma, Rare Beauty, Glow recipe, Summer Fridays etc..

Any recommendations welcome.

Im not interested in advice on letting my DDs use skincare and makeup so you can keep those comments to yourself.

There's a thread on Style&Beauty abiut this years Advent Calendars , all prices and types .
From the Harrods/Liberty/M&S to perfume calendars right along to Holland&Barrett and ELF or Revolution.
Trouble is there's a lot of fillers ( or Drawers of Doom as they call them)

They cost (£) !
I used to do my own Advent for DD ( used a gift box with a ribbon and a wooden number 1-24 tag , re-used the box each night ) . It was hard work finding things .
I do a Dec 1st Box for her now (she's 23)

Her favourite brands are :
Byoma
Mario Badescu
Rare Beauty
Sol de Janeiro
Phlur
Leighton Denny
Nails Inc
Mylee
PawPaw
Tarte

I put in skin care , nail treatments , nail polish , face mask , those under eye gel things , hair things like dry shampoo, ponytail bands ,
I've bought her some Leighton Denny nails already and going to look at Beauty of Joseon .

Do you have a Space NK near you ? They do an Advent Calendar but it is £££ and a lot of it won;t be what she's looking for

Got my tween a beauty bay one last year, wasn’t too expensive and most of the things were aimed more at that age. It definitely did have byoma, sol de janero, glow recipe etc. I did actually go through it before to check and I only needed to swap out one thing (which was fake tan!)

Sephora does a an own brand that again is cheaper and good for that age group which we had the year before.

Thanks everyone.

I have been getting glossy box for the last few months to broaden my range and knowledge, I’ve just bought some mystery boxs in the sale with the idea of possibly making a calendar up if I need to. I have old refillable calander from when they were little I can dig out.

I hadn’t thought of beauty bay, thank you.

I'm an hour+ away from any decent shops like Space NK or Sephora so if I do make up calanders I’m limited to Boots, TK Maxx & Superdrug unless I can justify a trip out.

I will have a look at the other thread, thank you x

@ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS bit late to this but when my DD was a tween/teen I got her a Ted Baker advent and it was great for that age group. There was bits of make up but nothing for older skin. Never really hear about TB and was a fluke I found it. Even at 18, some of the beauty calendar are too ‘old’ for her, but can always swap a couple of bits out. We did Body Shop too, but TB was definitely the best one.

Just looked at it, and actually it’s not as good as the one we got in 2021. Shame!

I have bought Pretty Little Thing Advents for teens the past. Might be worth it look

Thislittlekitten · 07/09/2025 22:02

I’ve just bought a glossy box one for my DD. She’s had it the last few years and loved it.

It is pricy but I’ve watched an unboxing of it and it seems worth it.

I’m thinking I might get the revolution one for my DD this year. I have a referral link for £5 off if anyone is interested. Not a huge amount but every little helps
