Appreciate it's only July, however I usually like to get stuff early. Has anyone gave any thought to what they are getting their children this year?

I have two boys ages 5 & 7 and have no clue ! Eldest loves writing , drawing , Minecraft , playing with figures . Youngest still loves lots of his current toys , avengers, hot wheels , Minecraft , sonic etc! Can't think of anything big to get them
this year so ideas welcome 😊

Following out of interest - my DS (8) has a birthday a week before Christmas so it is difficult to separate the two. We've picked up a gravitrax marble run set from Amazon for birthday (hopefully he'll still be into it then). His favourite toys at the moment are a stuffed creeper and a massive minecraft pig (won from Legoland).

Loads of Minecraft Lego seems to have hit the shelves lately

I would really recommend keeping an eye on the Christmas bargain prequel thread, there have been lots of fantastic bargains lately.

For my youngest DCs birthday (4 & 7) I have bought lovely character easels that have paper rolls attached and chalk boards the other side which were reduced to £4 from £35, and also a huge crayola sets that was reduced to under £7 to go with them. I figure they will get alot of use as they really enjoy painting and drawing

Your son sounds similar to mine in his interests, maybe he would enjoy the minecraft mine or excavation kits where you dig to find the characters, or some of the zuru smashers which is like a surprise toy where you dig to find the monster/dinosaur/car parts to build, and I think it also has slime. I bought a really big one for my son as I know he will really enjoy it. Mr beast lab is popular with that age, and Zuru also do a Metal Machines Speed Heroes build and race your own race car (Sonic the Hedgehog design) too.

I also got my son some character wooden toy playsets, because they were heavily reduced and looked brilliant.

Definitely keep an eye on the bargain thread and what have you got so far, I get a lot of inspiration from these.

what about experiences? You can box them up so it fills up room just like any other present.

You can do drivers experiences for as young as 5yo

Maybe look to see if there are any comic conventions locally that have characters they would like. If they like wrestling there are some that hold live wrestling matches throughout the day. Lots of children attend these, we take ours, they have met some of their favourite TV/Movie characters (Nebula & Gmora from Gaurdians of the Galaxy, several Harry Potter actors, Lord of the Rings, Dr Who). Most usually have big gaming sections the kids can play retro games as well as lots of stalks which will definitely be popular with your boys. Warning, they aren’t cheap but very much worth it.

There is also a Minecraft experience in London.

I’m starting mine today.
looking for a bike for my youngest who will be almost 4 at Christmas (really tall for his age though)
Does anyone know if you can get preloved ones online anywhere at all?

Jumping in here so I can keep an eye out for ideas. My son is 9, he already has everything he wants, a bike, Nintendo switch, board games etc. He’s really outdoorsy, so he’s got all his rig outs for that, so I really don’t know what to get him. I like to be organised and start early, at this stage I normally have a list drawn up but I have no idea this year.

He mentioned he was going to ask Santa for a holiday, we have never been on a sunny holiday and it is my plan to book one for next April/May, but I feel bad giving him this as his ‘big’ present because I am going to book a holiday for next year anyway.

Hopefully I can pick up little ideas hereSmile
