Do the emails not go out to Amazon Prime members?

@yalz yes I think it was a banner on amazon that I saw it on at first and ordered with a 50% discount several weeks ago. Then saw it was 70% more recently. Kicking myself because despite telling all about it and placing one order a week or so ago, I had a second order I was adding ideas from here to, but forgot to check out last night!

I too worry about the ethics of these things, but some things are definitely the same you see elsewhere for more. In most areas I try to cut down on buying too much, but then for christmas stockings I seem to go a bit mad.

Yep, my normal card works on Amazon no problem, and I tried another one too, so it wasn't the card. I tried to order multiple times and it kept sending cancellation emails immediately after I put the order through (and I tried different sellers/slightly different items in case it was a problem with a particular seller having low availability). In the end a customer services person told me that I wasn't eligible for Haul (but couldn't tell me why, or explain why Amazon didn't just say that in the cancellation emails 🤔). So a lot of time wasted ordering and re-ordering. Sounds like it might have been just me though.

I’m annoyed it didn’t occur to me until too late to add yoga blocks to my haul - something that - unlike most of my orders - would actually have been useful, as I have just started yoga. (I’m completely useless btw, but am working on the basis that it’s the effort that counts 😹)

Meanwhile, my actual orders are apparently arriving at the end of the week! Waiting with baited breath and hopeful that some stuff will make good stocking fillers.

If the Haul offer began on 6 August I’m surprised there was anything left!

I noticed there was less available last night than there had been when I first looked. That perhaps explains why only certain categories of things were listed. For instance, I didn’t see yoga blocks, so @IlovePond needn’t kick herself too hard for missing them.

The order I made on Friday is set to be delivered between 25 and 29 August, conveniently when DH will be away, but the one I made last night should arrive between 1 and 9 September.

@BeeMoreDog that sounds really frustrating! I suppose it is in Beta, so may be something to do with that. Basically they are using us all as guinea pigs.

@IlovePond I added yoga blocks to my order several times, but each time they removed themselves from the basket, so you might not have been lucky anyway!

This also happened to me I thought I was going crazy although it eventually went through randomly on its own this morning after I gave up yesterday 🫣

Our HB has more than doubled in size as it took over the old Argos building (which in turn had moved into the new Sainsbos on the same estate). I've not been yet. I'm starting to feel the urge!

On another thread ive just seen the Bonne maman advent calander which would be perfect for DH. Does anyone know if they ever do discounts or am i better ordering now whilst it comes with a free Christmas jar of chocolate spread?

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop a couple of years ago they were practically giving them away as Xmas approached, but I didn’t see any reductions last year.

I may have just bought the most unbargainous Christmas present. yes this year DD has a pair of $120 dollar pyjamas at the top of her list, which have been out of stock in her size forever…
I emailed them today to ask when they would restock, and they had one pair. So I had to buy them…
but they did apply a 20% discount code without me even asking, which was something

@MaybeItsJustTimeToStop I did see the Bonne Maman on sale a bit cheaper from other companies last year nearer December, but without the extras you get if buying directly. Not huge discounts though, maybe £3/£4, and from memory last years extras were a jam knife and a limited edition extra spread.

Remember a few years ago we got bargain hair dryers and straighteners off Amazon? I’m in the market for another of each for DD2, if anyone sees something, can you please shout? Thanks!
