Ideas for what to do after Christmas day

We're heading home after an extended visit to MIL/FIL over Christmas. It has been a fairly low-key few days and it would be nice to have some things to look forward to once we're home.

DCs has asked to make 'Christmas' food like gingerbread, mince pies, Christmas cake that we've not had while away (I think DC have forgotten that made a cake at home in October) and a dinner by candlelight. We'll probably go out for walks, weather permitting.

How are you spending the next few days? Ideas welcome!

We're looking forward to watching That Christmas and the new Wallace and Gromit. I think we'll have a movie night with popcorn!

That's an excellent idea @Forgottenmyphone We've not seen the new W&G - it would be a great choice for a family film night. Or film afternoon is the weather is poor.

We went for a dog walk with friends (their dogs, not ours!) and invited the other family’s children back to ours for the afternoon so they can play together. Hoping we can play some board games before / after dinner.

Tomorrow we’re seeing family, Sunday we’re going bowling with friends and Monday we’re off to Windsor Great Park. In between, I’m hoping to get to the gym, but I’m feeling slightly sloth-esque!

It’s DS’s birthday in a couple of days so we are heading back to deChristmas everything & wrap more presents! We need to make a birthday cake too, as he has a specific one in mind that the shops definitely don’t do, and we couldn’t find a cake maker open between Christmas & New Year.

Looking forward to hanging out at home too and playing with all the toys!

We are going on a light walk in a zoo near my mum's place in Germany. They keep the tropics house open as well.

Every year, we go to the theatre in the gap between Christmas and New Year’s. We’ve also had a film/ popcorn day. Plus games, jigsaws, toys and doing crochet kits
