I'm not sure I have any this year now kids are 12 and 14. I have bought nice things for my family but nothing amazing.

If I had to choose maybe the horse Jellycat that took me ages to find. Even though some of their presents cost 6 times as much.

My ds 13 asked for a gaming PC but we also got him a gaming desk. We were given two 24' monitors for free. We also bought a dual monitor stand which wasnt due till Friday but it arrived today. I can't wait to see his face!

Jifmicroliquid · 24/12/2024 10:39

I got my parents a kindle fire each. They currently do everything on their phones so I can’t wait to give them their gifts and see their faces. They’d never buy themselves anything like that as it’s too expensive.

WilfredsPies · 24/12/2024 12:07

A nodding head Bob Ross for DH. Only a stupid thing, but what he asked for was really boring and I know it will make him smile.

And everything we bought for our nephew, both from us and from Father Christmas (who will be dropping some bits off for him here, as well as at his home). He’s the only one still young enough to believe, so we’re going to see the magic through his eyes. I am so incredibly excited.

A little cushion of our cat for my 5 year old. She doesn't know it's possible to do this and she is going to absolutely love being able to cuddle it to her hearts content. Our actual cat is a lot less enthusiastic about cuddles...

A plush Gru Junior (from Despicable Me 4). DS has been talking about it excitedly for weeks. Had to order the bloody thing from Japan and was terrified it wouldn't get here on time, but it's here, it's wrapped and ready to go under the tree....

I4gotmyname · 24/12/2024 12:58

Oh I got dd a gaming pc. Which i think she will be really surprised . She kept asking for things that I wasn't going to get . Like a new phone when she only got 1 last year. She was messaging her brother slagging me of .. " I'm not bothering saying what I want now. All she does is say no ffs" little did she know me and ds were messaging each other about a gaming pc 😅.... so yeah quite excited to see her face .

Emmacb82 · 24/12/2024 13:00

Lego track for one ds, and a buzz lightyear utility belt for the other which only arrived today 😅 they will be so excited!

HPandthelastwish · 24/12/2024 13:01

I once bought my mum and DD a block of horse riding lessons to do together. My mum rode regularly as a tween before her mum died and her lessons had to stop. She hadn't ridden for 40 years and was like a kid in a sweet shop although apprehensive too. I think it's the best gift I've ever given.

Nothing massively exciting this year. I ruined the good suprise because I couldn't keep my mouth shut.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 24/12/2024 13:01

One that hasn't arrived and so now will have to be a new year gift or something (if it ever does turn up)

mysparkleismissing · 24/12/2024 13:01

For my DS a youth driving lesson
For my DH erm I got him a print from etsy the locations of our first date, proposal and wedding

smallest2largest · 24/12/2024 13:06

I’ve got DS a little wooden toy shaving kit so that he can join in with DH in the morning. I think he will love it.

zaffa · 24/12/2024 14:13

For DD a Gabby Dollhouse. She has no idea and I've always been against them (because I have to buy it and then all the rooms are separate!) and I actually bought her loads of super cute sylvanians but every time we go to the toy shop she looks at it so lovingly and then says (in a sad little voice) but the rooms are all separate aren't they mummy? And wanders off.
She's just turned five. I think it's a bit of a waste because the plastic does feel flimsy and I'm not sure how long she will love playing with it. But it's not my Christmas present and I think it's enough of a wild card to make her really happy.

Winterwellies · 24/12/2024 14:24

Barbie Dreamhouse, she's going to be so excited!

mrsconradfisher · 24/12/2024 14:50

For DS1, a cat cushion for him to take back to Uni with him.
For DS2 a Stussy jumper that I said was too expensive.
DH doesn’t do Christmas presents, he finds it all a complete waste of time (we’ve got used to it now!)…but I’ve got him socks with photos of the cat on!

Shufflebumnessie · 24/12/2024 14:52

A very realistic baby doll for DD 7. She hasn't asked for one but I know she'll love it. A lovely friend has crocheted a beautiful blanket for the doll & my in-laws are getting a pram that she asked for.

A huge, very soft & fluffy Christmas tree shaped cushion for DS 12. He saw it a few months ago & fell kn love with it. The next time we were in the shop they'd sold out & he was so disappointed (but I'd already bought one). Plus, some specific merch for his favourite anime that were hard to find.

StiggyZardust · 24/12/2024 14:55

I've bought Iron Maiden tickets for DH. He will be so happy!

StressedQueen · 24/12/2024 15:09

My 6 year old daughter is going to be over the moon with her Barbie dreamhouse so most excited about that!
9 year old, her little wooden dollhouse as her old one broke.
My son the Sony XM4 headphones that were the only thing on his list!
Then for one of my 16 year old daughters, she's been dying for a Pandora charm bracelet and I told her they were too expensive but she's getting one this Christmas. Then the other one is getting Pandora heart earrings but I'm most excited about all the books I'm giving her because I know she'll be absolutely over the moon!

BrieHugger · 24/12/2024 15:14

Weirdly, a t-shirt my teenager really wanted and thinks was sold out. Was sold out because I bagged the very last one!

This is lovely. Where did you get it? My son would love one of our dog for his birthday (the dog is similarly unenthusiastic about toddler cuddles 😂)

Bippityboppitybooo · 24/12/2024 15:25

A yoto for my little dancing singing toddler (she obviously didn't know to want one - ive set up all her favourite music ready to go). And magnetic minecraft blocks which my son has just come across on kids youtube and is now begging for but which I got ages ago!

All of it really though. They only asked for 1 thing each this year but I've knocked it out of the park, and for less than previous years.

HolyMoly24 · 24/12/2024 15:25

@Crumpetandcake

what I found on Etsy: Cat/Dog cushion

I went for the ‘ugly’ option lol!

JaneIves · 24/12/2024 15:40

Olivia Rodrigo tickets for Hyde Park next summer for my 11 year old.
She's really got into her this year, she's already massive Swiftie and she got Eras tour tickets last year, that was an emotional unwrap!

GreatTheCat · 24/12/2024 15:51

An Oodie for my niece, she will love it. She's 24!!

thesnailandthewhale · 24/12/2024 15:57

Oasis tickets Smile

Kingofthetyrantlizards · 24/12/2024 16:05

I have 2!

  1. I found a Danish (I think) website that sells coffee pods in all sorts of interesting flavours, so I ordered a selection for DH that fit in the machine he got me last year. I'm mainly excited about this one as I also benefit 😆 (although DH will love it).

  2. a toy asda van for DD. Our weekly delivery brings her so much excitement, so I'm hoping she'll like being able to do her own deliveries....
