Picture the scene…it’s Saturday teatime. I’m sitting on the living room floor watching season 3 of Bridgerton (not as good as I hoped but I enjoyed it nonetheless). Glass of Black Forest chocolate liqueur drink, with ice, on the go while I’m wrapping presents. The Christmas tree lights are blinking away in a delightfully dozy way and the house is warm and cosy. All is well.
Then my phone rings...it’s Ocado Customer Service. It’s about my Christmas Eve delivery…my blood ran cold and I broke out in a sweat. “Is it…bad news?” I whimpered. At that moment my brain threw up a montage of me flying through the aisles of Sainsbury’s desperately fighting off likewise crazed last minute shoppers for that last bag of brussel sprouts all the while the clock is ticking until closing time and I haven’t even found a turkey…back to reality and the rather lovely person reassured me and said everything was fine but they just wanted to check that I knew the price of one of the items I had coming had changed, I have never felt so relieved and may have told the startled young man I loved him. So (non) crisis averted! Hurrah!
Ok, not the most exciting story to tell but I have leant from this harrowing experience that chocolate liqueur should really be saved for after Christmas dinner. Oh and Christmas is bloody stressful but I still love it!
Merry Christmas everyone!
