Deck the halls
Elf
The holiday
Click and collect
Polar express

Channel 5 have various films on every day's so they should be on their catch up

HornyHornersPinkyWinky · 21/12/2024 10:42

Home Alone

Klaus & Arthur Christmas are both really good - even though they're aimed at a younger audience your daughter might enjoy them.

MermaidEyes · 21/12/2024 10:51

Die Hard
Yes, it's a Christmas movie

It's a hill I'll die on .... 😆

We have a Tradition of watching a Christmas film with the DC (DS 25 / DD 22)

This year "Red One" (its on Netflicks ) with The Rock , smouldering . Good escapism.

Violent Night - funny but has some "ouch" moments when the hamfisted robbers are trying to get into the attic

"This Is Christmas" a load of commuters on a train , all have a back story .

If you like a "Christmas Carol" type of film , and there are hundreds, then:
"Spirited" - it is funny , and it stars Ryan Reynolds <win/win>

This year , DD and I will watch Lost Christmas , Last Christmas , Last Train to Christmas and ,maybe The Muppets Christmas Carol (not seen this )

Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
Miracle on 34th Street.
Uncle Buck.
Bad Santa.

What films does your DD like @Jellycat70

My DH said he wanted to watch Die Hard/Die Hard 2 ( I was sure he watched them recently but he said it was Christmas last year !)

Not a fan of Home Alone
National Lampoon are good but dated
I absolutely hate Its a Wonderful Life

Rainbow450 · 21/12/2024 14:56

There's loads on netflix, the usual Christmas schmultz- some cheesy but others not bad. The text before Christmas is so bad it's good 🤣

Anyway others we like are Christmas chronicles, polar express and last Christmas.

SugarCookieMonster · 21/12/2024 15:17

If she’s a fan of Brooklyn 99 then I’d recommend Hot Frosty on Netflix. Completely silly and ridiculous but fun. Great cameos from some Brooklyn 99 cast.

Another vote for Violent Night.

If you fancy something a bit adult and chaotic, Office Christmas Party is a bit like The Hangover in a work setting. Also Bad Mom’s Christmas is the film if you’re feeling a bit taken for granted.

Turmerictolly · 21/12/2024 15:55

Click and Collect was funny. It's only an hour long.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/12/2024 17:00

I have just spent 1 hour 50 minutes of my life that I will never get back watching Last Train to Christmas .
I love Micheal Sheen and I kept thinking "this must get better" but it was drawn out and confusing

Should've bailed out after 10 minutes Confused

GettingStuffed · 21/12/2024 17:30

Violent Night and if you have prime Red One

NotVeryFunny · 22/12/2024 01:10

This is my Christmas must watch list:

â—¦	Die Hard
â—¦	Die Hard 2
â—¦	The Holiday
â—¦	Paddington 1
â—¦	Paddington 2
â—¦	Love Actually
â—¦	Arthur Christmas

And my maybe watch (ie seen and like but not love)/haven't seen yet watch list:

It’s a wonderful life
White Christmas.
Violent night
Red One
Polar express
This is Christmas
Office Christmas party
Your Place or Mine 1 & 2
Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
Miracle on 34th Street.
Uncle Buck.
Bad Santa.

Arthur Christmas is my absolute favourite Christmas film and I'm an adult! Closely followed by Die Hard 1 and 2 (which were my favs before Arthur Christmas came along!).

maldivemoment · 22/12/2024 08:17

Spirited is hugely enjoyable.
Muppets Christmas Carol
Arthur Christmas might be our family’s all time favourite but we can’t seem to find it on any streaming services…

Arthur Christmas is on Apple TV, but you have to rent/buy it.
