Going mums for Xmas day so don't need to sort food etc but I've not bought any gifts yet, I have NO time to go shopping but can use Amazon etc if next day delivery available.

Desperate for ideas for daughter 20's, mum 70's, aunt n uncle 60's and another aunt n uncle 50's

Help!!!

I know I know I'm a mess! Not even got cards yet!

The guardian has lots of articles that list nice gifts for different categories. You could try that.

What kind of things does your daughter like? Mine is in her 20s too and she's into crafts, cooking and baking so is easy to buy for. She likes silver earrings as well.
If you're reliant on amazon, some things like clothes aren't always as good unless it's a brand you know, but other things like board games are a safer bet.

Thank you!

Amaryllis bulbs in a box are a safe bet. Waitrose have them. Or Sainsbury's have hyacinths planted in a basket.

Think practical and useful small gifts, I have shamelessly relied on Amazon this year. Again.

Toiletries, cosmetics, chocolates, mugs, scarf and gloves. Amazon has lots of branded goods from high end to bog standard. Perhaps avoid the cheaper non branded items. Obviously books on Amazon are plentiful and you can browse by the charts.

Graphista · 19/12/2024 02:04

Bulbs may work for mum thank you and maybe one aunt too

Daughter likes her music, makeup & accessories (but I'm clueless) scent, jewellery (but I've bought her loads of good jewellery over years) skincare

It's the uncles I really struggle with!

Decent socks for the uncles, - they won't care. Everyone needs socks. (Saw a good range at TK Maxx the other day).

A daughter requires more thought. Very hard to guess what a young woman wants most (so you need to keep an ear out for clues in the 12 months preceding).

If I had to buy a present blind for a 20 year old girl, I'd look at Chanel nail varnish and ideally the most desired latest colour.

i.e. not a classic red but navy blue or whatever is the latest.

RogueFemale · 19/12/2024 02:17

Scent is too risky, as it's so personal.

If you live in London, Fortnum & Mason biscuits in tall tins are a Christmas winner. But it's too late for mail order.

I've got my dd some perfume but I know what she likes and it's in the same vein as what she already has.

Does your dd swim? If so, I love these headphones.
Otherwise the bose quietcomfort ones are so comfy but amazon seems to suggest they wouldn't make it to me by Christmas.

@SuperLoudPoppingAction Oh yes, you remind me of the Bose mini speakers. Fairly sure most people young or old would like one.

If unsure I always go consumable. Good chocolates you know they'd like, a bottle of their preferred wine / spirit / pack of interesting craft beers to try. A cheese hamper if into cheese?

daughter: theatre or concert tickets? Depending on budget you could include a dinner for before a show for her plus one other?

voucher for Sephora or similar for make up wrapped up with one lovely make up item or perfume you know she likes?

GildedRage · 19/12/2024 02:35

curry's has those shokz headphones for a good price if you have one near you.
i have a set for walking and am thinking of getting a set for my dd. harder to loose than the iphone little things.
i bought my daughter in law a gift card for sephora and one for lululemon.
equally i bought the boys in the family gift cards for amazon.
fancy little box and gift bag options on amazon as well!

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 19/12/2024 02:38

Uncles really won't care- socks, chocs, booze or a mens toiletries set.

Graphista · 19/12/2024 08:33

Yea uncles are easy going to be fair. Just messaged one aunt to ask anyway. Other issue I have is no time! Lots of overtime with work and when not overtime nights out! Argh!

Amazon may well be getting hammered tonight!

Don't send Christmas cards. Just make a donation to charity (leave it to the new year if time is an issue).
