Monday at 5am when the shop opens! Then I’ve got to be at work for 7am, work till 5 then off to a local light show and back home for a party. I’m going to be exhausted 😩

@ImageMirror I was exhausted just reading that!

stackhead · 18/12/2024 19:45

Tuesday morning at like 6.30. Can't go any other time. The turkey is already in the freezer though.

DH works nights at asda so if stock is looking dire on Sunday and Monday I'll get him to bring the essentials (pigs in blankets) home. Everything else is interchangeable.

Chillilounger · 18/12/2024 19:47

Tesco's shop arriving Sunday, buthch es delivery Xmas eve

pinkksugarmouse · 18/12/2024 19:54

DH and I don't do a main or weekly shop. In fact we tend to just shop for a couple of days. We don't do a Christmas food shop either.
I am making a vegan main I can get most of the ingredients well in advance and the others probably I'll get on the 22nd to make it up on Christmas Eve.
The veg can be bought then too along with the ingredients for the tofu quiche I am doing for Boxing Day. I'm buying ingredients as and when for whatever I want to make.

@Taytocrisps tell me about it 😢 I’m a nurse though and off on the 24th so trying to squeeze everything in. Wish me luck!

I have a delivery booked for Sunday so it gives me chance to get last minute things if I don’t get everything on my order.

Wendysfriend · 18/12/2024 20:13

Collecting the turkey and ham Monday afternoon and Tesco online order Monday morning. I've been buying stuff each week with the shopping so it'll only really be lots of fresh foods being delivered.

SugarCookieMonster · 18/12/2024 20:13

Sunday afternoon is M&S food order pick up (only Turkey and Colin!) the rest we’ll go to the supermarket for on Sunday morning I think. Then any last minute bits while DH is in work on Monday.

ASpacemanCameTravelling · 18/12/2024 20:14

Got a delivery due tomorrow, then me and DP are going at weekend for the last bits. Everything is short dated close to Christmas which is annoying - M+S I’m looking at you…
I send my DS a big shop to include all his nice food as part of his present and that’s arriving Monday afternoon at his house.

Blarn · 18/12/2024 20:16

Shopping being delivered on Saturday. Might send dh for final fresh bits on Monday. Picking up lovely rib of beef on Monday!

softkittywarmkittylittleballoffur · 18/12/2024 20:33

Sunday I have an online delivery and then I’ll go at 6.30 am Monday morning for anything missing (which is bound to be loads)

whydoihavetowork · 18/12/2024 20:36

I have a Friday Tesco delivery and Saturday Waitrose one! Saturday has the turkey crown so got to figure whether it needs to freeze or will last.

Yessss! Tesco were spectacularly poor one year, over a full page of missing or subs (they were bizarre, too!) I’ve never used them for Christmas delivery since!

WhatsItWorthToYou · 18/12/2024 20:41

I've done the drinks / crisps/ little snacky party bits that I've put in freezer, the meat (also in freezer), desserts and gravy / condiments

Just need to get one dessert that's better dated and the fresh veg and that's me done

I'm thinking Sunday as any veg will be just fine for Wednesday

Oceancreature · 18/12/2024 20:41

Delivery Monday morning with majority of things. Turkey pick up in store later that afternoon and will get any missing items then too, hopefully not too many missing items and I can get in and out quickly.

CoastalCalm · 18/12/2024 20:44

Quiet Christmas for me and DH , going to local butchers on Sunday for pork pie sausage meat and breakfast supplies then M&S for a normal food shop and a couple of treats like florentines

PumpkinPie2016 · 18/12/2024 20:44

I'm not hosting Christmas day, we are at SiLs, so I am taking starter nibbles, an alternative to Christmas pud and pigs in blankets. It's just me, DH and DS Christmas eve having a small party tea (DS chose this) and then my mum and dad are coming boxing day so need to feed them.

So, I am planning to shop Saturday morning (already got some of the alcoholic drinks in) and collect a butchers order on Monday 23rd.

I won't need loads so it will be fine to do Saturday and then store in the fridge/freezer until required.

2025willbemytime · 18/12/2024 20:44

I want to try and only need to go once more. Debating Sunday or Monday with my son.

Santahoney · 18/12/2024 20:46

Click and collect booked for the 21st

Thevelvelletes · 18/12/2024 20:46

Thursday double staff discount at Asda then back on Monday for some fresh stuff.

TimeAndTideAndButteredEggsWaitForNoMan · 18/12/2024 20:50

I’ve been buying non-perishables over the past couple of months within my regular deliveries. I’ve got one delivery on Friday and another on Monday morning, which will include all the fresh stuff - the beef for Christmas Day, cream, fresh veg and so on. If necessary DH has offered to pop out to our small local Tesco for anything which doesn’t arrive, but our Morrisons deliveries come direct from the warehouse and are pretty reliable.

LaPalmaLlama · 18/12/2024 20:59

Cook click and collect: Saturday
Waitrose delivery: Sunday
Turkey, cheese and charcuterie and some chocolates from Chococo arriving either 22/23.
I’ve got a meal plan from Monday through Friday which is when we have guests and that’s all covered.

I’ll inevitably end up running to M&S for stuff I’ve forgotten on Christmas Eve.

I’m not stressing too much - we live 3 mins from Tesco and they open on Boxing Day.

Secretvet · 18/12/2024 21:02

We did ours today, still got a butcher order to collect Monday and turkey Tuesday so will pick up anything we missed at that point. First visitors arrive at the weekend then more next week, a full house for Christmas Day but everyone will muck in.

OldTinHat · 18/12/2024 21:02

Ordered a few weeks back.

I have Sainsburys on Saturday, Asda on Sunday delivering and then a special food wotsit to collect on Tuesday.
