Inspired by the “what have you got the kids” thread as I got some good ideas from there…
what on earth have you got your partners/husbands/significant others??

my husband is normally quite easy to buy for, but this year I’m struggling!!!

what have you got yours?

Thanks so much for your input all! I’ve ended up getting DH some tickets to see his most listened to band this year and a personalised calendar with family pics, which I’ll add the band details and date to!!

Aftershave
Bottle of gin & posh tonics
Nice moisturiser / facewash
A book
An oodie

Bit dull!

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 17/12/2024 22:00

I've got mine a new iPad, lego mclaren, running clothes from his fav shop, collectible vinyl records from his favourite band and some tools he requested for his classic car. He's impossible to buy for as he usually just buys what he wants/needs through the year.

Namefortodayandtomorrow · 17/12/2024 22:32

Another difficult DH to buy for but he did ask for this book - The Ultimate Guide to Rebuilding Civilisation. It’s a lovely hardcover book and will be great on the coffee table.

I’ve also bought a rugby top, The Best of Matt 2024 and booked a nice restaurant (Clos Maggiore) in London that we’ve been meaning to try for awhile.

Nothing. We're not doing presents for each other this year, financially we've just had one bill after another.
Not a plea for sympathy, it's actually quite liberating, I agonise over his presents and hate spending money just for the sake of it, yet never feel I hit the mark with them. I just hope he won't break ranks and buy me something.

SanFranByAir · 17/12/2024 22:40

But wow, people spend a lot on here 😲

Almostgotshaggedcupoftea · 17/12/2024 22:45

Concert tickets for one of his favourite bands! I'm so excited! Only a few days now until he finds out. I've been sitting on the secret for MONTHS 😬😬

Samandytimlucypeterolivia · 17/12/2024 23:03

DP pretty much buys stuff when he wants it, except clothes which is what I usually get him from Christmas and then again in March for his birthday.
so I’ve bought him…

Reaching A Verdict: Reviewing The Bill book (he asked for)
Multicoloured adidas socks
3 adidas T-shirts
a grey adidas tracksuit (he specifically asked for a grey one)
a Jack wills hoody
hotel chocolat chocolates
lush bath bomb gift set

FloralMoon · 17/12/2024 23:06

Joggers
Waterproof jacket (his needed replacing anyway)
England rugby boxers (and got a date in the diary for his best friend to meetup during the six nations for a day of food, drinks and rugby as they hardly every see each other!)
(Cute England rugby outfit for our baby which hubby will appreciate!)
Tickets for us to see Ricky Gervais
An Emma Bridgewater ‘Daddy’ mug from our baby (I happen to know he’s got me the Mummy mug)

Stocking fillers are lots of fun East Asian snacks (ramen, mochi, unusual flavoured sweets/biscuits/crisps) - got the idea from MN!

We keep it small and cheap. I've got my husband Grinch pyjamas, stranger things socks and strangely like someone else on here a good quality pillow ( bought myself one 6 months ago and he's always trying to steal it).

We’ve had some years where we haven’t done presents… they’ve been some of my favourite years as it’s one less person to think about!!! Didn’t suggest it early enough this year 🤣

Lol. I love everything about Christmas apart from the giving and receiving of presents!

Yogagrandmum · 18/12/2024 10:25

A Bluetooth receiver for his 🏍

Beansandneedles · 18/12/2024 11:07

My DH updated his list YESTERDAY, knowing full well I finished shopping in October... He's asked for a food processor, desk tidy and clothes.Being a grown up is so exciting!

I had already bought the processor, some whisky, plus chocolates, lip balm and gloves for his stocking. I sincerely don't want to buy him clothes, so many wife stereotypes have snuck up on me (if it's on the stairs TAKE IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO UP!!!) that I avoid any I can 😂

Might get the DC to decorate a tin can as a pen pot though.

Beansandneedles · 18/12/2024 11:08

@Randomname83738 DH and I agreed not to do gifts for anniversaries/mothers and fathers day (if the kids do it then yay, but we're not orchestrating it or forcing the issue) for this exact reason. Sometimes the best gift is not having to think about it 😅

mumofds's · 18/12/2024 11:25

So far I have bought him boxers and socks I remember him having the boxers before and he said he loved them. Aftershave a new Xmas jumper and that's it so far if I have time this week I'm going to try get him new leather gloves

purplespink · 18/12/2024 11:26

Pretty boring but:

Slippers from his football club
Calendar of favourite artist
DVD of a film he's wanted to see for ages
Mug from football club
Book heavily inspired by one of his favourite films
F1 T-shirt
PS4 game that's really for both of us

Waitingfordoggo · 18/12/2024 11:27

My DH is getting theatre tickets, a wash bag and a snoozeband. Might get a few extra little bits too but everything is so damned expensive now and he had his 50th last month which I spent a ton of money on.
