Inspired by the “what have you got the kids” thread as I got some good ideas from there…
what on earth have you got your partners/husbands/significant others??

my husband is normally quite easy to buy for, but this year I’m struggling!!!

what have you got yours?

A surprise family Centre Parcs trip for the start of the winter forest lights 😊 he hates the start of January and always says that he wishes we were away on a trip somewhere instead. DH loves CP and has been desperate to get back with our pre-schoolers so I know he’ll love it 😊

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 17/12/2024 16:23

Mine usually just gets himself what he wants when he wants it - he doesn't use after-shave/nice smelly toiletries (much to my disgust!), doesn't like spirits that much, refuses to let me buy clothes for him, in short, is an absolute nightmare to buy presents for! I'm delighted today as a friend suggested a mini 3-D printer which is something he's never shown any interest in but which I am hoping he will quite like!

Cornflakelover · 17/12/2024 16:26

Usual underwear / socks aftershave
some trainers and t shirts that I know he will like

an expensive gas BB gun and accessories that I know he wanted - cost around £500

toastedcrumpetsrock · 17/12/2024 16:30

Voucher for a restaurant he likes
Aftershave
Pajamas
Will also get:
Boots toiletry set
Possibly a bottle of something

DH is impossible to buy for because if he wants something he just buys it for himself, there and then.

But this year I think I've played a blinder. He's a really poor sleeper so I've bought him a Snooze Band + an amazing pillow, exactly the same as the one he had at our AirBnB recently which he loved (it's from the States and cost me a fortune in import taxes, but hopefully worth it). Also a couple of pairs of flannel PJ bottoms from Fatface and a tin of his favourite shortbread.

I love the pillow idea. Everyday luxuries x

JimHalpertsWife · 17/12/2024 16:51

Dh asked for a replacement wedding band (both lost ours years ago)

Also got him a heated throw, some waterproof socks, and a bottle of his favourite spirit.

MinnieMountain · 17/12/2024 16:55

We don’t normally bother. However, this year I have bought him a selection of his favourite biscuits and chocolate. He’s got a habit of saying he doesn’t want any when I do the shopping. then eating more than his share when I buy family treats.

Hoolihan · 17/12/2024 16:56

Hermes Terre d'Hermes
Opinel bread knife

ECJW98 · 17/12/2024 17:00

It’s my first Christmas with my partner (we’ve been dating for around 6 months) so I’ve just got her a few small bits - perfume, a jacket she wanted, a new wallet because she needed one and a gift card x

caringcarer · 17/12/2024 17:01

Main gift a bean to cup coffee machine for holiday home. He always misses his coffee first thing on holiday. Stocking will have Amaretto coffee beans, milk frothing stainless steel jug and milk thermometer, pants, socks, Dove for men, giant Toblerone, a book, T shirt, gel ink cartridges for his Waterman pen, wallet, bottle of Captain Morgan's and handkerchiefs because he refuses to use tissues unless he has a cold. Oh and an insulated travel cup.

Tickets to Kylie concert. We were trying to get tickets when sale was on without luck. I managed to get resale tickets from Ticketmaster. He is a life long Kylie fan.
Books
Socks

Decisionsdecisions1 · 17/12/2024 17:18

Trainers he chose
Book he chose
Nice bottle of wine
Travel bag for cables/chargers (from Stackers) because it drives me mad that noone else ever remembers their chargers then hog mine on holiday (so this is really a present for me)
Dvd of Young Frankenstein - we were desperate to re watch it the other week but can't stream on any platform

Dd has bought dp some skin serums and lip masks as apparently 'his lips are a state and his skin is dehydrated'.

ImageMirror · 17/12/2024 17:19

Northface coat
’Shacket’ from next
a portable ninja smoothie maker
ticket to climb the o2
park run band and top
subscription to runners world
a new jumper
shoe heaters
some ted baker smellies
some kitchen accessories he asked for
A new diary

ive spend a fortune but it’s SO boring. We’ve got tickets for Springsteen, Coldplay, oasis and Lana del Rey for next year, I should have surprised him with one of them instead of us splitting the cost. He normally has a ‘main’ present (I know, we’re not kids but it’s what we like) and I’ve just really struggled with what to get this year

99OrangeBalloons · 17/12/2024 17:24

We've bought tickets for a show we want to see as our main gift to each other - but have also wrapped up a book, some new pjs , thick socks and chocolates to have something to open on Christmas morning 😊

LaPalmaLlama · 17/12/2024 17:27

Drumroll for romantic gift of the century......... workbench/ tool store from B&Q

And so he has something to open.... some Japanese whisky, a book and some shower gel. Might get him some trainers if I have time this week.

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 17/12/2024 17:29

Running shoes from me, bluetooth keyboard for his Ipad from our daughter

GettingStuffed · 17/12/2024 17:29

A pack of socks, a bottle of chestnut liqueur, Christmas coffee, Christmas beer and a couple of CDs.

So far his stocking is a bottle of beer, some coffee and a phone stylus.

This looks really pitiful written down though. I know I need more stuff for his stocking, hopefully a visit to poundland will bulk it out.

Thank you, really hoping he's pleased. He literally has everything already so all I can do is get him luxury upgrades. His real passion is state of the art tech, very specific, but I have no idea where to even start with that!
