Christmas gift for niece for her new house

I’ve got gift buying fatigue and can’t think what to buy my niece. Just moved into a Victorian house, she has quite vintage/antique taste, likes green and golds. £40 max budget for something decorative but despite her having similar taste to me I can’t think what to get her or where to look. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks

Oliver bonus do vintage looking glass trinket trays.

Tray
Lamp
Cushion
Candlestick
Serving platter

I’d look in John Lewis, Anthropologie, and I’d look on Vinteriors and Ebay for something vintage, also Rockett St George

A pretty set of cocktail coupes? In a vintage style?

Sorry, I think those cushions are awful. I really don't think you should buy has something which has to go on display. It's her new place and she will want to furnish it and decorate it how she wants. It'll just be embarrassing if you get her something she doesn't like.

You could get something like nice wine glasses though.

How about a decent sized glass vase, usually easily found in charity or antique shops and a bunch of flowers to put in it. Useful and hard to get ‘wrong’ .

I was also going to suggest a vase. When I first bought a house I focussed on the practical stuff, so when my then boyfriend bought me flowers, I only had a plastic jug to stick them in

Vase and a nice bunch of flowers.

Does she have a Christmas tree? What about nice decorations. Georg Jensen do new designs each year so will have 2024 designs (if you can find them in stock anywhere). They make nice gifts for weddings, birthdays etc around December too, a memento of the date.

Or Alessi do a range, rather different in style

My standard gift is a nice doormat 😂. They see it lots, it’s useful and it’s something very low down your list of priorities.

Not the best selection at the moment but they usually have some nice ones!
