...what can I get my friend's little boy? Please hit me with ideas...what are they into? Any book series that are popular? I know he loves football but presents in that area seem pretty limited.

The 13 storey treehouse books are very popular with my 8 year old.
And the Jamie Johnson footy books (also a TV series) if you want something football related.

Other than that kids in my 8 year olds year seem to be big into Pokemon cards again - but that could just be specific to their school!
