What are you buying your 6 year old daughters?

Massive first world problem I know, but I just don’t know what to buy DD who has just turned six.

Her birthday was a week ago and that was a struggle. She already has sooo much. Admittedly mainly handed down from her 12 year old sister, but all decent condition.

she already has a nice bike, has new leotard for gymnastics for birthday, loads of Sylvanian set ups, generations doll stuff, Barbie dream house and a million Barbie’s plus the same lol dolls which are gross .

stocking has nice books and felt tips, craft stuff etc in it.

but I’m struggling for a main present that doesn’t take over much room and under £50

One of those pets alive things like the guinea pig that has babies?

Exactly the same issue here! I've been lost on my DD this year.

I ended up taking a punt on the Mama Surprise bunny as her main gift. She does like interactive pet-type toys so I hope she'll like it.

She asked for a xylophone and a kalimba so I've got that for her.

Other bits...
Chocolate coin maker
Space themed gemstone dig kit
Den kit
Ice cream role play curtain
Jellycat toy

Football kit from her brother and a pet themed polymer clay set from her sister.

She's getting a V-tech secret diary and magnetic tiles from Grandparents.

I’ve got mine a Cookeez Makery and a Disney bitzee

moonlight1705 · 12/12/2024 22:41

Mine is into lego so have got her the Encanto lego house as her main present.

Various family are getting her:

Bluey 3 in 1 aeroplane
Glow in the dark hot wheels track and cars
Slime/kinetic Sand type activities
A step counter watch for kids

HolyMoly24 · 13/12/2024 00:16

My almost 6 year old is getting various craft sets that she hasn't tried before like marble art, woodwork animal kit, light up tracing board. I also picked up a kids telescope for a bargain.

She is also getting what she asked Santa for - a gem stone dig kit, a watch (got the vtech kidizoom one) and one of those pencil cases where you press a button and a mini calculator pops out etc

She is also into monster high so is getting two dolls off family members.

I think in my daughter's eyes the watch will be her 'main' gift even though it wasn't particularly expensive or anything.

HolyMoly24 · 13/12/2024 00:17

Maybe your DD would like a dance mat as her main gift?

Finteq · 13/12/2024 00:19

Get her a beyblade stadium starter kit.

She'll love it.

berrypop · 13/12/2024 07:05

My 6yo dd has asked for Heelys, Magnatiles, a kidizoom camera and one of those Happy Napper sleeping bag things.

I've also got her a screwball scramble game and I've filled a big box with silicon cooking utensils, mixing bowls etc and some baking ingredients, as she loves to help in the kitchen and will be thrilled to have her own stuff.

NoIdeaWhatsHappeningHere · 13/12/2024 07:10

I found my 6 year old quite easy this year as she is into Stitch and Angel so anything branded as that is exciting to her. I've bought a Stitch kids laptop thing as her main gift, and a dance mat, gymnastics Barbie and magnetic building blocks. Then other smaller gifts, and some practical ones - new backpack and lunchbox, fluffy blanket.

middleagedandinarage · 13/12/2024 09:50

Struggling here too, DD turns 6 the week after Christmas. It's a nightmare when their birthday is so close!

  • Happy Napper
  • Little Live Pets Puppy
  • Loom band kit

Thanks everyone. I feel a bit better. As I can see what she is already getting is along the lines of these things. I guess I feel bad she isn’t getting a ‘big ticket main present’ like a bike or Barbie dream house.
But like you say it doesn’t matter sounds like she’ll be happier enough ☺️
