Gift for a man who likes fishing

Please help me - I need a gift idea for my Mum’s partner. All I really know about him is that his hobby is night fishing and he enjoys DIY (although he already seems to own every power tool under the sun)

My budget is up to £40 but I have absolutely no idea what to get as you could write what I know about fishing on a postage stamp and still have space to spare!

I wouldn't go with any fishing gear per se - people tend to be quite particular about the kit they use for their hobbies IME. I personally would go for something like a thermal base layer or thermal jumper/fleece & thermal socks
