Wrapping DS’s presents and he’s a bit light on books. Please share what your five year olds are enjoying - he loves the Billy and the Mini Monsters series but he’s got them all.
thanks!

We had this collection when DS was that age and I've bought them as gifts many times for nieces and nephews. They're brilliant and have lots of classic stories included (beauty and the beast, the wizard of oz) Usborne Reading Collection - 40 Books — Books2Door

Looking for the magic porridge pot by ladybird books. Looked on a popular site and it's crazy prices. The book I'm after is the lady on the front with blue scarf round her head . Thanks

I think at 5 a mix of things is good that you can read together or they can start to read alone.

For 'grown up' picture books
The book with no pictures really appeals to 5 year olds humour (ok this isn't strictly speaking a picture book)
Also Quentin Blake books like Mrs Armitage on wheels
Dr Seuss books

Graphic novels like Tin Tin and Asterix

For 'proper' books
Nate the Great
The Mr penguin books

My almost 5 year old loves nuddy ned, cockadoodle poo and not now Bernard.

My 5YO loves the Hairy Maclary books, the Julia Donaldson collections (particularly the ones in hardback, where there are 4 stories in one book), the Jon Klassen ‘that’s not my hat’ collection.

For Christmas, we’ve got him the Dr Seuss collection, a picture book called Clive Penguin, and Colin’s Castle.

Horrid Henry
The faraway tree series

Narwhal and Jelly books are popular here. ‘Monsters 100 Weird Creatures From Around The World’ was very popular with my 5 year old and his pals. ‘A Day In The Life of a Poo, a Gnu and You’ is also great.

Also “the day banana went bad”
