And did you stay within your intended budget?

I just finished ordering the gifts for my (just turned) 3 year old and is came in at about £250. This was pretty much bang on what I intended, and this also includes the stocking and that bastard Christmas Eve box that I wish I never started.

Of course the amounts will vary wildly in the thread, I’m just curious really!

About 70. Plus stockings which were around £10-15

It's about what I budgeted.

DC are 20 and 18

SeasonsGreetingsBatFace · 10/12/2024 00:44

Oh a lot. I always do

26 and 18. About £800 between them

purpleme12 · 10/12/2024 01:17

£125 I think
Couldn't believe it when I added it together 😳

Danikm151 · 10/12/2024 01:20

Around £250 total on everyone. Loads of bargains as I started in July- wrapping has been a nightmare!

caringcarer · 10/12/2024 02:29

My 4 kids are adults now. I gave them budget of £150 each plus stockings of about £50-60. Foster son is getting £70 gift from us and £150 stocking.

Dearover · 10/12/2024 02:32

Your DD is 3. Very easy to stop Christmas Eve boxes as this point. Give her whatever is in it over the next couple of weeks & you don't have to buy stuff ever again

LimeYellow · 10/12/2024 02:52

Approx £150 on each of them (teens).

BlackChunkyBoots · 10/12/2024 03:09

18 year old. £40 so far but I might get one more present to unwrap and a subscription for one of her hobbies, then it's done.

AutoP1lot · 10/12/2024 03:43

£350 each. More than usual but they both wanted Nintendo Switches and we could stretch to it this year.

The last big Christmas spend was the PS5 in 2020 - the last 3 years we've spent around £150 each.

UpTheMagicChristmasTree · 10/12/2024 03:48

I think it totals about £150-£175. I don't have a set budget exactly, it slightly depends on the year and what I think her main gift will be.

User2123 · 10/12/2024 03:57

I've spent about £50 each on 4 and 6 year old. One year old about £20. Everything was bought second hand off Vinted/FB, probably about £150 each if bought new but kids don't care if the box has been opened before so why spend more than you have to!

showersandflowers · 10/12/2024 04:15

About £80 I think on 3yo. At this age their wants are so simple so taking advantage of that!

EatingHealthy · 10/12/2024 04:18

Don't be ridiculous. She's 3. If you don't want to do a Christmas Eve box just don't do it.

DaftyLass · 10/12/2024 04:19

More than we had decided originally, but not too badly , worth it

mrspresents · 10/12/2024 04:45

Approx £1000 for my two adult dc by the time I add up main gifts, smaller gifts and stockings.

Grumpyoldthing · 10/12/2024 04:54

Just added it up and it comes in at just shy of £150 each (14&17)
they both have a larger gift they asked for at £50 each , then pjs , few smellys and sweets.
we had said £100 each so I have gone over .
I only have my uncle , secret Santa and crackers to make …… planning to be finished this weekend 🤞 for less the £50

TheRainbowFish · 10/12/2024 04:59

Between £50-£100 for a 2 year old. A few wrapped toys and a stocking.

makemineadecaf · 10/12/2024 05:06

£140 on the 2 year old, £250 on 10 and 14yo

GravyBoatWars · 10/12/2024 05:21

We came in just under our £1800 total budget for our 7, including stockings and Christmas Eve books and socks. It’s generally weighted by age with the teens getting pricier items than the littles.

Mouswife · 10/12/2024 07:23

About £500 each , some are joint gifts like board games etc

K0OLA1D · 10/12/2024 07:26

About £800 on my 2 DC 13 and 10. And then £100 between my 3 niece's and my best friends 2 dc.

Samphire44 · 10/12/2024 07:26

Under £50 on each. Older one has SEN and doesn't like things will do some experiences instead. Younger one told me he only wants 1 present because he got too many for his birthday! Will still do him a little stocking though.

ConsternationStation · 10/12/2024 07:28

We always have a budget of £150 for each DC and this year we are actually a couple of pounds under. This includes the stockings, a "Santa present" and a little bundle from me and DH. Nothing is hugely expensive but it all adds up!

Cazs818 · 10/12/2024 07:34

For the past few years I’ve set a budget our Children under 18 get £150 , over 18 £80 , nieces etc £20 each £50 joint in-laws

before that it was out of hand no budget , unopened stuff sat there all year never played with was such a waste

I’ve also stop doing the tat for tat giving , solely concentrate on immediate family only

PrincessPeache · 10/12/2024 07:38

Around £400 for 8yo. It’s a lot but he’s our only child, and one of the reasons we only have one is so that we can afford to spoil him a bit when it comes to presents, days out and holidays. He has a few Nintendo switch games, lots of puzzles and Lego, and art supplies. And a stocking full of chocolate!
