Ooh if I had that budget (I don’t) I’d get a lovely bag and some ‘portrait of a lady’ perfume

I am getting some lovely boots though and some higher end makeup this year which I wouldn’t usually (as I’m getting older thought I’d look after my skin a bit more)

Gardendiary · 09/12/2024 20:04

Ooh blimey, probably jewellery at that price point but as it is I’m getting an M&S dressing gown 😄

TheGirlWhoLived · 09/12/2024 20:07

I’d split the budget, get a couple of pairs of nice trainers, bold gazelles and some navy vejas, a couple of really nice bracelets I’ve seen that are £70 each, get one of the benefit makeup gift sets and some clarins skincare, also I’d personally like the newish Zelda game on the switch and the new Mario party one but I see that’s not everyone’s taste 😊

rosydreams · 09/12/2024 20:19

gosh i wish i could ask for that much i think i am getting one present under £30 this year.If i had that i would get new boots or ask for a nice weekend by the sea together

DappledThings · 09/12/2024 20:24

Anything from goodgifts.org or chooselove.org. Hate getting anything else.

Shinyandnew1 · 09/12/2024 20:29

Nice budget! I’d go for a new ring-something topaz maybe :)

TunaTheSilverTabbyCat · 09/12/2024 20:31

700 quid would buy me 4/5 nights away and several bars of chocolate

Preferably from the 24th to the 29th December.....

New boots, perfume and a spa day with massage

Ponderingwindow · 09/12/2024 20:36

3d printer, Lego, furniture for my studio space

SilverBlueRabbit · 09/12/2024 20:39

I ask for the only thing every year and DH always says 'But i want to get you something for you and your alone'.

I just want a long weekend away somewhere with my family. Last year i managed to persuade DH that yes this is what i really wanted and we went to Bath. I really want to go to York next. Truth is i can't think of anything I want other than spending time with the family.

That said, years ago before he died FIL used to gift me £500 every Christmas on the proviso is was just for me. One year i had a series of Falconry courses. Then a set of piano lessons. Then a facial every month for the year. I miss him, he was lovely.

Fuckitydoodah · 09/12/2024 20:41

Ooh what a lovely dilemma to have. Ummmm, I'd probably go for some jewellery. I like bracelets.

frozendaisy · 09/12/2024 20:41

Couple of lens for the digital camera

Jennywren2000 · 10/12/2024 08:39

If that was my budget, red cashmere socks, Brora gloves, some make up and a voucher for a massage. Or alternatively a Toteme handbag if I could push the budget.

MamaWeasel · 10/12/2024 08:56

With that budget I'd have a few annual magazine subscriptions that I can't afford presently, and a pretty box of really posh chocolates.

TeamPolin · 10/12/2024 08:59

I have asked DH to pay for me to do a short craft course on embroidery. (Trying to avoid unnecessary clutter in the house.)

Other (optional) things on my list are:
Glossier Lidstar eye Shadow
Couple of books on architecture
Lucy and Yak dungarees (got no chance here as DH HATES them with a passion Grin)

n3f5 · 10/12/2024 09:16

Still haven't got any ideas which means I should probably just not ask for anything.

I do want some laser facial treatments, so maybe that

What a beautiful gesture from your FIL

pizzaHeart · 10/12/2024 11:25

Tickets to a show in London and lots of chocolates. ( I will get both)

fiddleleaffig · 10/12/2024 11:30

Lego Disney castle & Tiffanys bracelet if that was the budget.
I've also asked for a claw arcade machine because it would be awesome

LozzaChops101 · 10/12/2024 11:32

If I had that budget I’d be asking to put it towards a 5 day paragliding course 😅

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 10/12/2024 11:36

DH is currently asking for my list and I find it really difficult as if I need or really want anything I just get it - it sounds like you may be the same @n3f5? I usually end up asking for generic gifts.

Handbag
Myrrh and tonka perfume/shower oil/body crème
Earrings
Fetcha chocolates
Pyjamas

OhBling · 10/12/2024 11:38

Yeah, I'd get jewellery. I've had my eye on a pair of small diamond hoop ear rings that cost about £550 from Liberty for a while.

For my 50th, I'm planning to get a really beautiful cashmere dressing gown which, depending on what I get, could cost up to £500 or so.

But this year, I'll be getting a couple of recipe books and a clarins face wash and I feel lucky!! Grin
