I KNOW it’s not to everyone’s taste, I KNOW people could/will pile on about excess and budgets and gluttony, greed, and the spirit of baby Jesus himself … but I’m nosy and want to know 😁 I’m also here for the very divisive annual Christmas Fridge bunfight in a couple of weeks.

I’ll go first.

VegTrug · 16/12/2024 18:33

@TheGirlWhoLivedWhy does a 10yr old need body scrub and Sol De Janeiro? Please don’t tell me you allow her onto TikTok at such a young age???

A morse code bracelet sounds like a cool and unusual present. My DD would have liked one when she was younger.

pinkksugarmouse · 16/12/2024 18:45

Actually Stompythedinosaur I'm curious as to where you got the morse code bracelets. 🤔* *

@VegTrug she doesn’t need them, she just wants them. Nope no TikTok, you must’ve missed the bit where she has a 14 year old sister. She wants to be just like my eldest and a mini Sol de janeiro and super popular scrub makes her happy 🤷🏻‍♀️

what have you got your 10 year old?

OP posts:
TheGirlWhoLived · 16/12/2024 19:12

@NestaArcheron thanks for the heads up, she’s read a couple of other similar series and I’ve had a look through common sense media- I think I’m fairly comfortable with the content. She’s an oversharer so she’ll be sending me pictures of the sex ‘scenes’ asking me what bits mean 🤨
I’ve downloaded it for my kindle too as she likes to chat about it with someone as she reads it 😂 looking forward to it tbh! Appreciate the thought though 😊

OP posts:
TheGruffalochild · 16/12/2024 19:45

Our list includes family members who ask me to order and wrap their presents, and there are no other family members getting gifts so I do try to compensate a little for that. Bold is what I’ve managed to wrap, all of the presents are hidden in the sauna and it’s starting to look like Santa’s grotto in there. Luckily the kids are afraid to go in due to spiders so it makes a good hiding spot.

DD 13

Kindle and accessories
2 Lego sets
3 small jellycats

A lot more than we intended!

Stockings will be the obligatory socks, pants, toothbrush, bubble bath, a magazine each, blu tack, a scratch card, pud in a mug, boba tea and sweets and chocolate. Oh and a satsuma!

They have both planned and saved for thoughtful gifts for one another and my partner , their other mum. Hopefully they have done the same for me!

They look after their things and don’t take things for granted - my son, for example, has had his switch since he was 6, and he treasures it and still enjoys it.

They don’t really have extended family - the Christmas holidays are just the four of us and there are no other presents or celebrations, as many of their friends have.

CatherineCawoodsbestie · 16/12/2024 21:57

Sorry @Minihero i don’t know how I did that, it was an accident. Sincere apologies!

He’s younger - I fudged the ages somewhat for privacy reasons.
