I answered your question in which talked about society in general which has an obsession with negative terms like 'tat' and 'minimalism' in which the terms like 'clutter' get thrown out is geared to the traditionally abled where as children and the neurodiverse people have different needs that don't follow those categories.

As I have mentioned on other threads maybe you might like to learn about 'clutterbug' and how different needs can be met through non traditional organization systems.

I love Christmas and it’s then that they get the most spent on them. I don’t do big gifts for birthdays.

DD is 13 and DS is 16. Similar presents this year

Then they both have had an induction at the gym and enjoyed it and want to start going regularly so we’ve bought them some personal training sessions to kick start it and gym clothes

Personally? Decent job, and DS12 very rarely asks for anything so I don't mind buying multiple Christmas presents. We (he and I) also declutter his bedroom of toys he no longer uses, clothes that don't fit and books he won't read again at least once a year.

DM and DSis have got her a Gabby's Dollhouse Lego set and a scooter. Tried to go for a mix of toys, games, crafts and practical items she'll use as we have a lounge full of toys already and her birthday is just after Christmas!

It's more than I would usually buy but we lost a close family member in the summer and I've got cancer at the moment. Probably overcompensating for the fact the poor kid has had a tough year.

We're off to Florida next year too so have got them Mickey ears and tshirts for arrival day ☺️

I told myself I wouldn't go mad at Christmas because of the holiday but I've ended up amassing smaller things through the year and realized when wrapping that their piles are big!

We have extended family but we all agreed not to do presents so we all just buy for our own children. My husband and I normally just go see a show together at some point in the year, and I don't have any colleagues/friends to buy for so going mad on the childrens' presents doesn't bother me.
