The perfect hat for those men very large of head

Poor DH has an enormous head (size 8) and no hair so loves a warm winter hat. I thinks his only want for Christmas this year is a new bobble hat. He loves caarhart/dickies/vans but all their knitted hats are one size and he definitely doesn't fit one size fits all hats (even knitted ones). I really don't want to buy an unknown Chinese brand off Amazon or a generic thinsulate fleece one (it'll be one of his main gifts)

Has anyone else had to buy a hat for the large headed men in their life? Where have you had the best luck?

@Maneattraction Thank you but he has a 64cm head diameter! I think the big in that's website refers to the size of the bobble Xmas Grin

Very large of Head is now my new favourite saying!
(No help otherwise)

Would there be something on Etsy??? Or someone who could make one to order??

Have you tried a proper men's hat shop? There are still some about and they can sort him a style he would like of the correct size. It needn't be terribly expensive (though that's subjective!) or bespoke - they will just carry unusual sizes.

Get someone who knits to make one for him💂

Sealskinz size xxl says it fits 62 - 63cm so it might fit?

Thank you so much! I think an XXL with good stretch should hopefully fit and they're just the style he likes.

Sadly on closer inspection and after reading the reviews it seems that the sealskinz wouldn't be big enough. I've taken a real gamble and just ordered bighatsforbigheads. They're a brand new company but seem legit on trustpilot and are UK based on companies house. I'll update when it arrives in case any poor person ever finds themself with a beloved but swede noggined family member

Fingers crossed for you.

I hope it fits! My dh has a truly massive head, in winter he now wears a felt trilby or a tweed baker boy that he got from the fancy 'proper' hat shop in town.

Apocketfulofposies · 09/12/2024 11:39

No help for a bobble hat but when dh, who is also v large of hat, wanted a decent hat I went to posh hat shop Locke on St James's in London to get him one for a significant bday - (I took him with me so they could measure his head)
