He doesn’t even know what he wants! He said he likes surprises and Santa will know…
he doesn’t really play with toys anymore, he’s more of an active outdoor kid who loves football but he’s got so many footballs!

I have bought my 5 year old the sports training kit from Smyths toys. We are hoping it stops raining long enough to use it.

We have also got a science kit and craft kits as he doesn't really play with toys either.

Maybe an small indoor basketball hoop Would work?

Ds is 6 in January. He has requested one old switch game (mario maker 2) and nothing else, so i feel your pain! He's getting some minecraft magnetic building blocks, a hooded sonic blanket, an early reader mario book, sonic stationary set, a vtech kidi zoom watch (mainly for the camera function), a minecraft diamond armour onesie, a 16" squishmallow, etc. He's not really into lego alas. He's having a smaller bits christmas this year.

I'm waiting to see how jealous he is of his littles sister's christmas yoto (she's 3 in Jan) before I birthday shop, but we've been listening to audio books at bedtime and he's loving those - mainly science and joke podcasts.

A Spirograph
A scooter
Type into Amazon Lego silicone set. You can pour melted chocolate into them then when they set take the Lego out and then you have chocolate Lego. My son will love it!

Mine is 6.5 and is getting scooter, yoto mini, Beyblades, football rebound goal thing, and some books and stocking fillers.

He’s had a yoto player since he was 3 and adores it - listens to stories every night before bed - so if your DS doesn’t have one I’d highly recommend it.

Whydotheycallyoured · 07/12/2024 20:19

@Cerialkiller Can I ask where you got the hand crank torches from? I have been looking for one for my 6 year old.

CoodleMoodle · 08/12/2024 07:51

I haven't bought anything yet but this is what DS6 has requested:

Lego (DS loves Technic but it's so expensive and he's got most of the smaller sets. So maybe one bigger one... Luckily he likes City as well!)
Books
Hot Wheels playset
Hot Wheels monster truck
Fidget toys

He adores Robot Wars but already has most of the toys (thank you eBay!) but I found the Hexbugs Battlebots toys and am considering those too.

There is a really cool indoor football toy in Smyths which looks brilliant, my own DS is 14 now but he would have loved it at that age. Will see if I can link it

Just came across this, sounds like such a sweet kid! If anyone’s still looking for ideas for active, outdoorsy 6-year-olds, our u-Zoom One Microscope has been a fun pick. 🔍 It’s compact and kid-friendly, great for exploring the garden or park and spotting cool details on rocks, bugs, or leaves. A nice mix of play and learning without feeling too “toys”!

Here’s the link if you want to check it out: www.upptackatoys.com/products/u-zoom-one-microscope
