Hobbycraft for me. I ordered a jigsaw for a family member. Royal mail screwed up. I had a very quick response from Hobbycraft. Complained to RM. Still waiting. My heart sinks when I order something and realise it's being delivered by them.
Hobbycraft have been in constant contact. Delivered another one.

Who have you found to be good or great?

I never have a problem with Amazon usually. I tend to pick up from a local shop though.

NEXT. Always. Have even given me the odd credit to my account if there has been a problem.

Fireworknight · 06/12/2024 18:08

Levi shop in Ashford outlet centre. Young salesman was very helpful recently, answering my questions and advising me. Very impressed.

hiredandsqueak · 06/12/2024 18:30

Dunelm, Evri delivered my parcel elsewhere, Dunelm arranged replacement delivered ny DHL the next day. As part of the same order Evri then emailed to say that that parcel had been smashed beyond repair. I contacted Dunelm again and replacement sent again the following day. Can't fault them.

Dyson. WhatsApp service. Always on the ball.

Bathroombedroomlounge · 06/12/2024 18:54

Next and poundland (was actually ordering store cupboard/cleaning supplies but added in some selection boxes/Christmas food).

OnyourbarksGSG · 06/12/2024 18:54

Stanley. My dh has a massive flask and multiple food flasks and travel mugs. Several family have quenchers. Any issues and they resolve it right away providing you purchased from them or an approved supplier. They've replaced seals for the flask and then the flask when the handle snapped after 7 years. My daughter's quencher handle came losose and they replaced it no worries.

LushLemonTart · 06/12/2024 20:38

Good to hear all of these. I can agree with Next too. Never had an issue.

For TVs, fridge, washing machine, I find appliance online always good. John Lewis large appliance terrible.

LaPalmaLlama · 06/12/2024 20:44

Amazon ( caveat: ordering from them directly- I tend not to use third party sellers). Faultless for basically 10 years. Next are good too.

Frasers on the other hand can get in the bin.

LaPalmaLlama · 06/12/2024 20:45

@stargazerlil i find JL good for large appliances but I do wonder if it depends on who the local installer is.

Harassedmum123 · 06/12/2024 20:45

Oliver Bonas today. Absolutely wonderful, helpful, patient staff.

QueSyrahSyrah · 06/12/2024 20:47

Blinds2Go. Ordered 3 blinds from them in completely the wrong size (inch v cm stupid stupid mistake, which I can only put down to baby brain). Luckily I'd taken measurement insurance out which covered it but they were so nice on the phone sorting it out although I'm sure they were thinking 'Here comes another idiot' and honestly they'd be right to think that.

stargazerlil · 06/12/2024 20:49

Sports direct on line are usually terrible and refunds take forever

Crikeyalmighty · 06/12/2024 21:07

As someone else said I've not really had an issue ever with Amazon on direct sales ( not 3rd party) -

Oleo24 · 06/12/2024 21:09

Staff are always excellent at John Lewis

ParkerPyne · 06/12/2024 21:20

Timpson. Always excellent! Polite and go above and beyond.

Tracystubbs · 06/12/2024 21:22

Notinthehighstreet
I bought a crochet set and it showed as delivered (dumped on my doorstep) but wasn't there (it must have been stolen)
The seller called me a liar and a scammer and refused to refund me
I got in touch with notonthehighstreet and had a refund within the hour
I know they are small businesses but I genuinely didn't receive it so they should have refunded me and taken it up with royal mail (or whoever they used to deliver it) rather than calling me a liar/scammer and refusing to refund me

Crimblecrumble1990 · 06/12/2024 21:32

Fortnum and Mason. Had a couple of deliveries delayed and they have apologised with a credit note for my next purchase before I had even chased the whereabouts of the parcel.

jaundicedoutlook · 06/12/2024 21:39

Richer Sounds - always buy tech from here as they are really helpful and give honest advice.

A few years ago DH went to help his elderly father buy a new TV in the sale and the actual owner (Mr Richer!) turned up in the queue and was handing out mince pies!

Crikeyalmighty · 06/12/2024 21:57

@jaundicedoutlook Oh they have fabulous service - we work in music and my H always goes to Richersounds

WeWillGetThereInTheEnd · 06/12/2024 22:06

River Island - the assistant was really helpful today, when I couldn’t find the order email. Then she helped me and DD get into the lift!

OrangesCinammonIvy · 06/12/2024 22:07

Able and Cole brilliant.

Mark's and Spencer utterly shit

user1471453601 · 06/12/2024 22:14

Sea salt are also very good. I had to return an item recently and had an email from them hours after the item was posted saying they'd heard from their courier it was on its way back, and the refund was in my account within days.

By the way, the return was because it was an accidental double purchase, nothing wrong with the item at all. Highly recommend them as a company

terryisyourfriend · 06/12/2024 22:22

Wanted some kit from Screwfix, I got confused about thread sizes and fittings. Young lady on sales opened box to check that it really did include everything.
Saved me buying extras. Ace!

Just remembered; M & S, Is there anyone theeereee! I am a customer, I really want to by these. Honest I do.

Illinoise · 06/12/2024 22:25

I’ve always found Amazon and Next to be excellent too.

The absolute worst customer service can be found in the insurance and phones sector, all of them are crap. There’s a special place in hell reserved for Three.
