How to 'wrap up' a magazine subscription?

My son has asked for a Match of the Day magazine subscription for Christmas. I've just been online and ordered it to start in January but wondering how best to give this subscription to him to 'unwrap' on Christmas day? As there's nothing physical for him to be given.

Any creative ideas for gifting a subscription?

Get him the annual, and put a homemade voucher inside for the subscription?

Make a picture/voucher from the subscription website print and stick in an envelope that’s what I’ve done in the past. This year I’ll be doing the same sons getting a snack box subscription.

Print the voucher then put in a Xmas gift box under lots of Xmas tissue paper . Easy to buy in pound shops , etc.

Buy a cheap mini toy football and give it to your son with a cheery handwritten note?

This. I buy someone a Private Eye sub every Xmas and give a Private Eye annual/book to unwrap.

Buy the December copy separately, and put it in that?

Buy the annual or the December edition and wrap it. I buy a family member a Viz subscription and do this.
