When to give friend presents?

Hey guys. I've never celebrated Christmas before (don't really want to go into it), this is my first ever Christmas with my little family. I just wanted some advice please! I have bought my friend & her children presents, but not sure when I'm supposed to give them to them? Do you give friends presents before Christmas & then everyone brings them home to open on Christmas Day? Or do you just give & open presents from friends there & then. I know this sounds silly but I'm still learning Blush What does everyone do? x

Unless it is a secret Santa/ bad Santa I would save the presents for Christmas and open them at home

Honestly just ask the friend. Some like to open with the giver. But a lot of people prefer in private.

It took my husband about 5 years to open anything in front of my mum.

I hope you have a great time whatever you do.

I'm just on my way home from meeting a friend, we exchanged gifts and cards, didn't open them. I will put the gift under the tree when we put it up and open it Xmas day.
On the other hand I meet up with a group of friends every Christmas and we always exchange gifts and open them then and there.
So in conclusion, it depends!

I've never opened Infront of friends/vice versa. They get taken to be put under the tree then on Christmas day, opened and a message of thanks to the giver with general Christmas wishes. We exchange gifts the last time we see eachother before Christmas, whether that's two weeks before or two days, just whenever we meet up last before the big day.

Whatever your background is, I hope you enjoy your first Christmas. Don't stress about anything, things will happen naturally and habits/experience will be learnt in due course. Just lead by friends example/what feels right to you.
