My 6 year old boy has not asked for anything big this year but his sibling has got a big 'wow' gift so I would like to match it with something for him. Doesn't need a bike or any electronics. Loves vehicles/army play/small world toys. Help!!!

My six year old is getting a lego set, which I'm hoping will be wow! The smaller version which was a recent birthday present was z huge hit.

NotMoreBadNews · 03/12/2024 19:43

Thanks, family have already bought a few small sets so I don't know if he would need any more lego. Is there anything else yours is into that I may not have thought of? Thanks. Would love him to be super excited by something on Christmas morning as his sister will be.

Marble rush ( slightly fancier than the standard marble run ) , its lots of fun , flashy lights and music

Our 6 year old boy has asked for the Hex Bot Gecko and the Despicable Me Fart Gun.
He's also getting a new scooter.

DS2 at this age loved army stuff too. We got him Chad valley army sets - great big boxes which looked a lot but weren't too pricey. They did a big battleship with lots of planes/coptors & army figures, a huge transporter plane which held loads of smaller planes, jeeps, tanks & soldiers & a battlestation which had loads of figures & vehicles. He played daily with it for a few yrs.

Take a look at the Soldier Force playsets (they do them in Smyths). We are a military family and DGS (8) has a set with a Chinook like grandad worked on, and a Hercules. Think they also do Navy sets.

Remote control Gravedigger All terrain monster truck - my son has one and loves it as do all of his friends. It's big, goes over grass, sand, snow. It's super cool. You can get them on Amazon for about £40.

We also have the Tiger Shark one which he loves but I'd say the Gravedigger one is best.

My 6 year old had this last year and loves it ! This year he has asked for the Mr beast lab! X

Needmorelego · 03/12/2024 20:01

Does he want a "big" present though? What has he asked for?

pinkroses79 · 03/12/2024 20:04

When my son was 6 he loved stunt scooters and football. The presents he has played with the longest have been the scooters and a football goal. And his games console, but that came later.

Mine loved imaginext at that age, he liked figures that he could hold easily without all bits coming off. He particularly loved the pirate ship but not sure what imaginext there is now. :)

I have learned this the hard way after the Police Station he got for his 4th birthday, it nearly caused a divorce!

He has only asked for very small gifts, he hasn't asked for anything big I would just love to suprise him with something we/he perhaps hasn't thought of.

@NotMoreBadNews that's a nice thought but make sure you do actually get what he has asked for.
He might think "wow" at a suprise gift and really love it but also might be VERY disappointed that the packet of Pokémon cards he asked for didn't appear 🙂

Thank you, the few bits he has asked for I have got. As I say it's a sparse looking pile compared to his sister but at least I know he will happy.
