Find the girls easy to buy for, but boys more tricky. I like to only buy stuff they will definitely like and use, not just filler stuff. He likes football, tennis, puzzles and games,

Stocking filler ideas for 9 year old boys?

rubix cube
juggling balls
astrinaut food

chocolaterevels · 02/12/2024 12:07

Astronaut food is a fab idea!

We did the various different rubix cubes last year, which were a big hit.

You could get a Fitbit or similar if he likes sport. I got foster done one for £15.99 instead of £22.99 on Black Friday. I think today is Cyber Monday so last sale day for techie things. Ear pods for music.

Might be a bit pricey for a stocking but Posca pens are a big hit in my house. Bath bombs go down well too

Smart game IQ?

There's a whole selection of these and they are very addictive! Got my DS one last year, and I think I play it as much as him!

Looks fab! Will buy. Thank you!

A Bedlam Cube would probs be a huge hit if he likes the Rubik’s cube. Don’t know if they still make them mind!

RedToothBrush · 02/12/2024 18:18

Pokémon cards
Tamagotchi
Invisible ink pens

A can of coke, or fizzy drink of choice, if that is something he wouldn’t usually be allowed to have. Similarly with a box of Frosties (variety pack size would fit in a stocking) or similar breakfast cereal.
Curly straw, pair of personalised chopsticks or a spatula with his name on (Not On The High Street).
Box of Quaker Oats in which small dinosaur eggs hatch when you add the milk (Amazon).
A football themed jigsaw puzzle.

PinkSkiesAtNight · 02/12/2024 18:27

I have an almost 9 yr old DS

Stockings always include
A drink they wouldn't be allowed normally,
chocolate money,
£1,
a satsuma ( that never gets eaten!)
a box of variety pack cereal
A magazine/comic
Pants/socks with a character/design

Then ...

Bath bombs or shower gel geared to him, sometimes a toothpaste instead!

Then small games/puzzles. Second the IQ games.

I can't think of anything different that hasn't been mentioned already though

A book of jokes?

My DS is 8 and will be getting the usual stuff of sweets, toothbrush, socks etc. he's also asked for a deodorant which he doesn't actually need yet so I've got him a kid friendly one. For "fun stuff" he's getting Pokémon cards, a drawing pad and finger skateboards.

He also recently got a puzzle game called Kanoodle for his birthday. That would make a good stocking stuffer.

mamajong · 04/12/2024 16:56

Rubix cube, gripper football socks, football annual for his chosen team, magnets, marbles, top trumps
