We moved house a week ago. I purchased the Gruffalo Advent calendar back in August for my dgd. Also a box of presents. I'm so cross and frustrated with myself. Searched all the boxes that still need unpacking. Not there. What the heck have I done with them. Grrr

Relax and try and think where you were when you unpacked them, kitchen? Living room? That's probably where they are in the boxes from that room

The chances are that you originally put it away somewhere where she wouldn't spot it and the presents.

Do you have some boxes containing things from your wardrobe? It may well be there, as it's somewhere you may have hidden it.

If you can't see the calendar today, would it be possible to see whether any local shops have the same one in stock? That way, you could get a duplicate for giving to her today - the original will be a bonus Christmas gift for you, when you find it.

Don't stress about finding it today (next few days) at the age of enjoying a gruffalo A/C she'll not know that start today, she'll be just as excited in a few days time!

then relax, think where you were in your previous home & what you packed it with.

once you stop stressing you'll find it.

I thought I was so organised buying stuff early and putting in boxes labelled up. We only have boxes now in the garage all correctly labelled as we've been through them.
I can't actually remember packing the gruffalo calendar. It's huge as it has 25 mini books in it, hardback cover and tied with ribbon. It was such a good price recommended on the Christmas bargains thread on way back in August.
I've looked on Amazon and it won't arrive till Friday plus it's gone up over £10. I might just have to hit the bullet.
As for the missing Xmas presents box, I have no idea 😢

Gosh, that's so frustrating. I wish I knew what else to suggest.

On the assumption that it's this one, you might be able to find a replacement in Waterstones, if you have one nearby. They may be able to do fast delivery as well.

Have just realised there is more than one. They must come out every year.

I lost stuff in a house move. I wonder if the movers took it as it never turned up.

Update if anyone's interested!

Found the box. It had been turned upside down when it was put down by removal men. It was a second hand box and had writing on it from my dad's recent move. 'Care, fragile glass items lounge'!
I don't know why we didn't open it as we'd opened every other blooming box.

When I'd unpacked it I looked on the bottom and there was my labelling 'Christmas presents'

A lesson to anyone moving using 2nd hand boxes, cross the previous writing off!!

I'm so relieved. Thanks to those who replied 🎄
