Not looking to spend a fortune, and it mustn't be in a novelty bottle! She has what her sister calls 'beige aesthetic' - quite simple, classic, clean lines, cream and white for her clothes and bedroom.

Any recommendations?

If you want to go minimalist posh -- the Aqua Allegoria series by Guerlain. They've been updating these light fragrances over 25 years and, I believe, still do sets of miniature bottles. I have a five-bottle set from 2001 that I wear and that still smell as new. "Pampelune" is pink grapefruit and is in the current collection from that original series.

Another one: "Nomade" by Chloe. Hot sand, date palms, muscatel raisins, the warm desert breeze against your white linen dress ... A simple bottle with a tan leather tie.

Any of the Zara lighter ones, reasonable price, plain packaging so look more classic

Another vote for chloe, she may also like something musky like narcisso if she doesn’t like florals etc. Zara do some nice ones M&S used to do a perfume I think it was an autograph one (sorry can’t remember what it was of it it still exists) which was very beige but I’m not sure teens appreciate m&s. Juliette has a gun has “not another perfume” which is a bit a musk, it’s hard to describe but smells like you but better. As a teen I quite liked next perfumes, cheap and cheerful.
