So I am now friends with a fab woman who is all the things in the title ( including minted) but quite down to earth. She has recently been diagnosed with ADHD and has anxiety.
I need funny, quirky fuck em all gift ideas that are still within the bounds of niace middle class if that makes sense.
Ir maybe just lovely things ( she has a lot of Anthropologie already)

“Sleigh the patriarchy” Xmas jumper?

elQuintoConyo · 29/11/2024 22:13

A nice mug?

TheWayTheLightFalls · 29/11/2024 22:14

Hello, well off lefty middle class mum of three here, recently diagnosed with ADHD (waves). Don’t own anything by Anthropologie though Grin. Um - if I were buying for myself I’d like a small edible gift from a cafe/bakery I love (I really prefer edible/fungible things). Or a non fiction book linked to one of my interests, or an invitation to dinner out somewhere just us two, doesn’t need to be anywhere fancy, just for a change of scene.

FFS photo didn't attach 🤓

An “I love Boris” t-shirt?

BangingOn · 29/11/2024 22:18

I was just going to recommend Black and Beech also, some fab things. I’m a particular fan of their ‘Do no harm, take no shit’ slogan.

JurassicPark4Eva · 29/11/2024 22:18

Have a look at Present Indicative website. Some clever things on there.

AndThereSheGoes · 29/11/2024 22:19

Exactly that sort of thing. Just, I dunno less obvious maybe ? She's not a slogan person.
I quite fancy a sleigh the patriarchy Christmas jumper though.

Hahaa, you're my friend aren't you! Yes, I think all that would go well.
I'd love to take her out but we live mikes apart and both rurally. Logistics of cars make that less fun than it should be.

Budget? Colour-changing or painted Doc Martens are about £180.

Brora cashmere socks or wristwarmers about £80.

Handmade picture frame with a photo of her kids in it.

I like the NHS poster above!

Itissunnysomewhere · 29/11/2024 22:31

I have the Sleigh the Patriarchy t shirt (and jumper, but T shirt is my favourite). Its really comfortable and looks brand new still even though I wore it a lot last year.

Really love it

CandlesOrangesRedribbon · 29/11/2024 22:36

Surley the tea towel first post??

Ineffable23 · 29/11/2024 22:36

Fuck this spinner badge

Or something from the home of modern toss.

I can't find it any more but there used to be a great tea towel in bright florals that then said "clusterfuck" in the middle of it in floral ish letters.

Fivews · 29/11/2024 22:40

Lots of great stuff in this small independent feminist shop
thefeministshop.com/

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 29/11/2024 22:48

What does she rebel against specifically? That may help narrow it down.

I mean - are we talking Just Stop Oil, carrying placards in marches when Trump visits the UK, wearing ‘adult human female’ t-shirts?

A 'Don't try so hard" mug. Do people really categorise people like this?

Just get her a bottle of wine like the rest of us do!

ElvenElf · 29/11/2024 23:11

Book 'The Authority Gap' (I have got this for my 15 year old daughter, so maybe completely missing the mark here as obviously a totally different audience!)
Otherwise not categorising- candle warming lamp
