Is bum bum cream still "in"?

I can't believe I've just typed that title 😂
Considering it for 13 and 14 year old girls. Both very into beauty and make up etc. Is it still an in thing or is it very last Christmas now?? (Trying to be the cool auntie)

I would say depends.

The SDJ body sprays are still very popular. The creams not so much. They are good though and can’t see anyone being unhappy to receive them.

MiddleAgedDread · 29/11/2024 15:21

body spray is also an option @Styleislost thanks! I might go to Boots and have a sniff of them. 😷

Body spray yes, cream less so, not particularly the yellow one, but the pink & purple ones will likely be gratefully received!

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 29/11/2024 15:44

I wouldn't be buying bum bum cream for children...

PinkFrogss · 29/11/2024 15:45

SDJ is definitely still in. They do some nice little travel sets with a spray, cream, and shower gel, which isn’t too badly priced.

Tbh they smell rank 😂 very sickly sweet. But that is probably why they’re all the rage for teenage girls. Remember “Charlie” body sprays? I think they’re just a more expensive trendy version of those!

2110l · 29/11/2024 15:46

They do a multipack of mini sprays for Christmas. My dd wants them. The sprays are definitely more in than the cream.

cantarguewithfools · 29/11/2024 15:50

Apart from the body sprays, the lip balm is also popular. So is “originals” barrier cream, and “summer friday” lip butter balm. Alternatives are makeup brushes (I hear TikTok shop has good options) or Victoria secret pjs.
You will defo be the cool aunt with any of those!

Superworm24 · 29/11/2024 15:50

The sprays are vile! Some of the Victoria secret ones are lovely, think they sell them in next.

That’s a good idea.

Some, to me are awful. I got one and it made me feel sick. Dd (19) loved it though and stole it away.

So depends on their taste as well.

The newish, purple one, is meant to be really nice.

SD1978 · 29/11/2024 15:55

Body spray more so, although the bum bum cream is liked, but not as much- has surprisingly actually been pretty good on her (12yr olds) eczema- so that's been a win as she reacts to most creams. Most kids don't slather themselves in moisturiser as a rule.

They're 13 and 14, hardly children.

Although tbf probably not too worried about firming their bums yet either 😄 agree with a pp that the body sprays might go down better.

Victoria’s Secret sprays are popular with my 13 year old and her friends.

Sleepycocker · 29/11/2024 20:56

My daughter likes it - and she’s 19!

AnnunciataM · 29/11/2024 21:07

Lidl do dupes of the sprays for £3 and they smell exactly the same - just as sickly sweet!

RausageSoul · 29/11/2024 21:10

Look Fantastic site has 30% off the whole range just now.

CremeBruhlee · 29/11/2024 21:15

SDJ sprays more than cream now. Summer Fridays lip creams, Glow recipe serums and Gisou lip glosses are in now. If you have a Sephora nearby they have a ‘trending’ counter which is usually what that age group want x

CremeBruhlee · 29/11/2024 21:18

In fact if you go on the Sephora website they have a ‘what’s hot on social media this month tab’ x

abracadabra1980 · 29/11/2024 21:31

@cantarguewithfools
I used to gag when my (now adult) teenage daughter used to leave the house 🤣

CandlesOrangesRedribbon · 29/11/2024 21:54

Op I was you last year and equally appalled by the names.

But, a year on, there is a mini pack of bum bum creams for dd (17) wrapped up?

In the sale

Hoplittlebunnyonrepeat · 29/11/2024 22:01

I've no idea what bum bum creams actually are, but that's what I refer to sudocrem as when talking to my toddler 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

LadyGabriella · 29/11/2024 22:05

It’s very overrated. Such a strong chemical scent. Wouldn’t repurchase

I agree with this the travel sets seem to be the ‘in’ thing. There are some good deals on them at the moment for Black Friday. Victoria Secrets is another good bet as is Summer Fridays lip balms. Bubble seems to be another skincare brand that’s big at the moment.
