Best homemade pastry for mince pies

I love making mince pies, using homemade mincemeat (Delia's recipe), but have to admit I rarely enjoy the pastry as much as shop bought. I've tried various pastry recipes.
What is your most amazing mince pie pastry recipe please?

Orange pastry. Uses zest and the juice. Best ever.

There is a nice pastry recipe with ground almonds in it, makes it really short and crumbly. Maybe frangipane?

My friend gave me this recipe. Unfortunately she didn’t give the end of the recipe that said you should pipe the top pastry on, for years I tried to roll it out! Just pipe round once like Viennese whirls. They are delicious

Mine is my mum's recipe, short crust with lemon zest, an egg yolk, a bit of caster sugar and some ground almonds.

I use the Paul Hollywood mince pie recipe but I use two eggs. I made a batch yesterday, the pastry is delicious.

Nigella's frangipane mince pie pastry is fab.

Ive been using this recipe for over 40 years.

Classic farmhouse pastry
Two parts plain flour
Two parts self raising
One part lard
One part hard margarine
Salt

Lovely short crumbly pastry especially when done in the food processor. I've won prizes for pastry done by the rubbing in method but I don't bother now. Anyway I like my mincemeat to be the sweetest part of the pie.

Very short crumbly pastry. Takes a while to combine but it does come together after quite a bit of kneading. Don't be tempted to add liquid.

I use a basic shortcrust, making sure it's not over worked and chill before rolling. I don't add sugar as they are sweet enough but I do sprinkle icing sugar on top

Rose crust pastry. It's transformed my mind pies these last two years. You'll need to Google a recipe though.
