I am looking to buy a gift for my friends 15 year old daughter but don't know where to start. I bought a few toiletries items but I want to get her something a little special. I don't know her that well and don't want to ask my friend as she is really unwell at the moment

Plouise make up

Fridge for her make up

Engraved jewellery

Pretty much anything on tik tok shop
Does she collect anything?- reborn dolls, Pandora charms etc

Poster of the stars in the sky from the day she was born - can get them online

Spa day

Home foot spa

Hit chocolate maker

Pandora jewellery. They've got 20/30% off at the moment and a lot is cheaper than you'd expect too.

Nerdles · 28/11/2024 14:10

All really good ideas, thank you so much

She doesn't collect anything as far as I know

Mine likes Disturbia for dark academia style clothes, theatre and merch, face and hair masks.

ElvenElf · 28/11/2024 14:33

Do you know anything about her? Even her style?
My 15 year old would not like anything mentioned so far other than perhaps some jewellery but definitely not from Pandora.

SleepyHippy3 · 28/11/2024 14:34

Just give her some money? Then she can get what she really likes/needs/wants?

mamajong · 28/11/2024 14:34

It varies so much at this age depending on interests but in our house hot chocolate station, fluffy socks, hot water bottle, sports wear (gym shark, Nike & sweaty betty), scented candles & fake plants

parrotonmyshoulder · 28/11/2024 14:44

My 15 year old would also not like anything mentioned above. Chocolate and a book token or £10 note?

Unfortunately not, and I really can't ask her mum atm.

I really appreciate all of the ideas

Mine likes notebooks and pretty stationery.
And cuddly things she can warm in the microwave.
She doesn’t like skin care and make up and has a draw full of unopened stuff - we regift it to her friends though as most of the are into it.

Dawevi · 28/11/2024 14:55

Mine likes Hatsune Miku and goth clothing.

She also likes Liz Earle shower gel and hand cream, and chocolate, which is probably more universal. She would also appreciate nice pyjamas and fluffy socks

ElvenElf · 28/11/2024 14:57

Maybe a voucher for somewhere you can buy lots of different things from and some chocolate as suggested by PP? Or do you want to avoid vouchers?
Mine do like candles but are fussy about the scents 🤦‍♀️gold jewellery seems to be in around here but it is such a personal taste thing it might be hard to get right.
Fluffy socks I suspect would be universally useful?
Depending on your budget probably my teens most treasured possessions (15 years old and older one)are their electric throws!

loropianalover · 28/11/2024 15:05

It’s pretty hard to say without knowing them. My nieces wouldn’t like anything from above.

They’re into Summer Fridays, Rhode, Uggs, Skims etc…

givemushypeasachance · 28/11/2024 15:31

Anything to do with style, clothing, makeup, decorative things - going to be tough if you don't know them and can't find out. This is basically buy a gift for an entirely random 15 year old girl where they could be a goth, preppy, a vegan activist, highly academic, off underage clubbing every night. So stick to something universal: what do all teenagers have and use? A phone. None are going to turn down a phone charging bank or something along those lines.

Or vouchers.

Singleandproud · 28/11/2024 15:45

What is in teens home town?
Costa voucher,
Waterstones voucher
Kudd.ly oodie -theyll be on sale now
Fluffy socks

Is this a Christmas gift or a general gift as mum is unwell?

MiddleAgedDread · 28/11/2024 15:53

It's so hard to get it right with this age group when you know them well, let alone when you don't know them! If you can't ask mum then i'd play it safe with something like cinema or amazon vouchers.

Agree with this wholeheartedly. My 13 would love most of the above suggestions but my 15yr old would be horrified! Nothing to do with age but they vary in their interests.

SharpOpalNewt · 28/11/2024 15:58

DD2 has a gift list!

Perfume, makeup, face cream, gym clothes- but it's easy to get it wrong.

I think a Nando's, Wagamama or Costa gift card would go down well with many.

Mine would love Costa/starbucks/Wh Smiths/Waterstones vouchers. Any socks (eg striped or spotty ankle sock) craft stuff(wool, fat quarters for making stuff), books (if i check the recommended ones in waterstones or 'best of young adult fiction lists' it's a good start), Sharpies, marker pens etc

She'd be happy with natural make up (clear mascara, nice powder compact) but spending lots on brands would be pretty pointless.

ffsgloria · 28/11/2024 16:06

They can be into very different things at this age but fluffy socks, nice chocolates, maybe one of those gift cards that you can use in multiple shops, would be good. Or a voucher for Starbucks, Wagamama, cinema?

leia24 · 28/11/2024 16:10

Mine would want
Makeup but particular brands like kylie, Charlotte tilbury, made by Mitchell
Laniege or summer Fridays or Rhode lip stuff
Stationary but only specific cute but not babyish stuff
Skincare but only bubble or byoma
Scented candles
Fluffy socks
Nike socks
Tatti lashes
Christmas sweets like frosted wine gums

knackered101 · 28/11/2024 16:10

Skincare sets, mine likes Glossier and I'm hoping Kylie Jenner because I found a set in Tkmaxx today for £12.99.

And she would not want books, plants, goth stuff, craft stuff, art supplies, voucher for book shop etc

She would definitely want a Costa voucher though that'd go down well
