My youngest has requested perfume but hasn't specified which one. Was thinking of trying a couple of dupes so wondered what ones we're popular at the moment.

Dd19 wears CKOne..

Mumwithbaggage · 25/11/2024 15:42

Youngest dd (20) likes La Vie est Belle and Opium Black. May well not be typical. There are a couple of Zara ones she likes too for every day.

mimiasovitch · 26/11/2024 16:11

My 23 yo likes smoky perfumes from rather niche brands, but the 21 yo is a fan of Marc Jacobs Perfect, and as mentioned up thread, Prada Paradoxe. One daughter is much easier to buy for!

Scutterbug · 26/11/2024 16:13

Ariana grande Cloud and Caroline Herrara Good Girl.

My 20 year old loves the seasons of the witch perfume from here.
It's lovely and smells all clean and fresh plus it's a very old school apothecary style bottle

Thanks for recommending this. Hadn’t heard of the Society of Alchemists before. My daughter will love this perfume and most of the rest of their products too.

Zara red temptation !!

HelenCurlyBrown · 20/06/2025 21:27

My 2 nieces in their early 20s both love Creed. At their ages I was wearing anything YSL. How times have changed!

permanentdamage · 20/06/2025 21:31

My 18 year old wears one from Lush.

Sparkletastic · 20/06/2025 21:32

Glossier You
Lush Sticky Dates

JaninaDuszejko · 20/06/2025 21:42

My 16yo loves Sol de Janeiro. Gourmand perfumes are probably a safe bet for most young women.

My 16yo has more sophisticated tastes and likes spicy perfumes and florals (she also likes Lovely which I love more and more as I get older, I think it's one of my favourite perfumes. Yes, it's lovely but in a very elegant way). Neither like 'clean' perfumes like ckone or l'air du temp which I love and they certainly don't like some of the more challenging perfumes that perfumistas like.

JulesJules · 20/06/2025 22:28

Mine like Good Girl and Lost Cherry (good dupes available)

HippyChickMama · 20/06/2025 23:00

12yo dd would like to wear Penhaligon’s The Favourite but wears Vera Wang Princess

LadyTyburn · 20/06/2025 23:10

Daisy, pretty much everything in Victoria's secret, and lots of vanilla. And everything sweet that I own: Bonbon (V&R), j'adore and a Jimmy choo one that I forget the name of...

It depends on the person, their personal likes etc.. what smells nice on one person may not smell the same on someone else.

i follow this Aussie makeup artist and she did a perfume reel which was spot on for me, it may help.

Im not sure if I’m allowed to copy instagram links, I will try if not she’s called askellenbeauty she’s on Facebook and instagram.

If you want to know what’s popular, when looking at sites or in shops see if they have a “trending” section, that will have all the most upto date trends.

As an update to this thread - dd's age 12 and 14 were pleased with the Sol de Janeiro perfumes they got for Christmas (the yellow one and the pink ones). Dd2 also got Cloud which has gone down well, dd1 got Daisy which has been largely untouched.

Mooandmae1 · 24/07/2025 16:49

DD1 21 years had the Yelow Gucci Floral last year and wants Prada Paradox this year.

DD2 18yrs had Carolina Harrera Good girl blush and Billie Eilish last year and wants the original Carolina Harrera this year.

They still love all of the Sol De janeiros and i might treat them to one of the mini sets where you get 4 or 5 different ones and they really love the Zara ones as well x
