Struggling to find gifts for my dds friends, I’m on a budget and need maybe 8 gifts. I would love to avoid Temu sort of thing if possible. I’d happily do a sort of craft bag or something but really struggling to find anything decent for £5!! Please help!

Oh that’s a gorgeous idea thank you! I’ve been scrolling Amazon for so long I can’t see the wood for the trees.

Hobbycraft has loads of craft stuff for under a fiver.

TheFormidableMrsC · 25/11/2024 08:15

Hole Bargains or Primark is your friend here. You can get little sets of girlie things or a fun lip balm and a couple of bath bombs, for under a fiver.

HOME Bargains 🤣🙈

Wallawallakoala · 25/11/2024 08:19

I've just done something very similar for my daughter and her friends. I bought these small bags from Amazon (hopefully the photo uploads) and each one has a candy cane, a few chocolate coins, some of those little spherical chocolates from Aldi that look like Christmas puddings and sprouts and then a nail varnish and a hand cream. The hand creams I got as a big set of 8 for about £5, nail varnish was 99p each, both from Bodycare. Bags are a fiver and the chocolate and candy canes came to about £4 for everything.

Baker Ross is good for discounted craft multi-buys too or The Works for those mystery egg things they all seem to love with 83 layers of plastic wrap and various segments filled with tat.

Are you near a branch of Flying Tiger? They have loads of little things for under £5.

Wallawallakoala · 25/11/2024 09:26

Love those little bags! Might do those with something from primark. Not near a flying tiger but will have a look online. I feel so much better what would I do without mumsnet thank you all so much!

Hole Bargains 🤣. I would definitely do Primark. Currently they've got loads of Hello Kitty bits too. Always popular I have to buy it for my 26 year old daughter . I've bought little lip-balms (around £1.50), they have a huge range of bath bombs for £1 and also mini nail polishes which I think are 50p. Plus hair clips etc for around £1. I'd also buy packs of paper party bags (Asda do some lovely star print ones), much cheaper than individual bags. Or again, Home Bargains do mini gift bags in silver or gold at around 40p each.

You lot inspired me! I ordered the bags from amazon, dragged my kids round “hole bargains and bought lip balms (flump/pop tarts/millions flavoured) 79p each and a massive pack of kids nail varnishes with little characters on for £4.99. £16.30 so just over £2 each!!!

I’ll get a candy cane to go in each too and I’ve ordered some little bracelets for £1 each in the Claire’s sale.

thanks everyone!!
