Buying gift for step nephew, don't know him that well, his mum says he would like aftershaves for Christmas. He quite streetwise, does boxing, plays football. Is there a current fragrance trend for boys (age 14-16)

I remember when was at that age all the cool boys wore Calvin klein Eternity or CK1... and if they let you spray it or your scarf it meant they liked you (and you could boast that you had cool kids aftershave on your scarf!) 😆😆😆

Do people really spend £50-60 on fragrances for teenage boys???

Yes, don't they deserve nice things too. It's Xmas, it's a treat, not an everyday spend.

Armani Stronger With You is another one apparently.

Blueeyedmale · 25/11/2024 19:23

I'm pretty sure its not a 'typo'... literally everyone I have ever known calls it Sausage, its a very obvious and common joke. Strange people are laughing like they never noticed.

Is it not better to find out what smell he likes? surely a scent is quite personal not just 'popular'.

Well I'd never noticed and it made me laugh 🤣

Phantom and one million are big hits with the teen in this house. Neither of us like the Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances but they are definitely popular with his friends. His dad has Sauvage which he also likes.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 25/11/2024 19:29

Mine both liked 1 Million when they were teens.

My DS wore Eau de Cidre at this age. It was very popular with various girlfriends.....

CurlewKate · 25/11/2024 19:36

Please ignore my previous post-I can't spell or remember. Aramis Eau de Cedre is what I meant!

Thanks everyone! It's a bit more than I was hoping to spend! I was thinking about 30 quid... I had no idea that 14 year old boys had such expensive scent tastes! 😆

My 15 year old is wanting jean paul galtier le male parfum (black bottle) or armani stronger with you intensely. But as other posters have said, anything Paco Rabanne is also 'in' with that age range.
He got a bottle of CK shock for his birthday and said it was so uncool (can't remember his exact words). It's now being used as air freshener🤦‍♀️

Spacecowboys · 25/11/2024 21:54

Yep paco rabanne phantom or Dior sausage here too 😂.

Anything that's Paco Rabanne.

Jean Paul Gautier Elixir seems to be popular.

And Dior Sausage.

Thank you. Thank you
It will be forever Dior Sausage for me now

Kitkatcatflap · 25/11/2024 23:12

I live in Sweden and my 17 year old is getting Noberu Tobacco Vanilla. It's around your price range and cruelty free unlike the Tom Ford one.

My 15yo loves his eau de sauvage which I do genuinely call "sausage" 😂. I can't stand it, and feel really sorry for the teachers at his school that must suffer from fragrance inducing migraines!

Kitkatcatflap · 26/11/2024 05:05

When my DH was teaching in secondary schools he claimed that in the 30 years the big health crisis among teachers/teaching assistants would be 'Axe lung' from breathing in the fumes of teenage boys. Post Christmas was peak risk with the opening of the gift sets.
