Non-smart watch for a 12 year old

Looking for a watch for DS who is in Year 7. He'd like a 'grown up' watch but all the 'mens' ones look huge and the children's ones too small / young looking. And I have no idea what is 'cool' (he doesn't either and doesn't really care - but I don't want him to reject it on the basis of it being uncool in 6 months time!). Any brands I should look at!? Thank you!

Why a non-smart watch? DS 10 has had an Apple Watch SE for a few years and loves it.

I'd be tempted to look at the Samsung Fit 3, its more fitness tracker than smart watch.
Looks like an Apple watch, gives phone alerts but you can't answer calls on it, and does step count etc. Amazon they are about £40

A non-smart watch… what about Swatch?

When DS was in year 8, we got him a men’s watch with a link strap. You can remove as many links as needed and add them back as he grows. DS’s is Hugo (as in part of Hugo Boss) and he still loves it now he’s in year 11. For those asking why not a smart watch, DS had an Apple Watch but they banned them in his school so he couldn’t wear it there or use his phone to check the time so he wanted a normal watch.

This is it (or similar) although it was a lot more than £73.99 😵. I call that a bargain! I thought the black was “cooler” than gold or silver.

Thanks all -, he's not allowed any form of smart watch for school - he mainly wants it for the school day (no phones at all either!)

I like the Hugo one, good point on removing links from a more adult one. I'll look at Swatch too!

Depending on the size of his wrist, and the fashion for big watches, a man's watch might look a bit big, don't rule out trying a black ladies watch.

DD12 has this swatch Here .
It's a nice size, it's smaller than some of the adult watches (she won one and it's far too big and too loose on the tightest setting) but larger than the kids ones.
DS has a Casio g shock, but he refuses to wear any kind of watch.

Yes my DD is not allowed to wear her Fitbit to school which is very annoying

My kids and I have old school Casio's. Love them. They're not allowed smart watches at school.

Or a garmin sports watch? Not a smart watch per se but very helpful to also keep track of steps etc.
