Tunis Cake - Tesco now have their own cake which actually LOOKS like the real thing .....

......... but from some reviews, while it LOOKS like the real thing, it doesn't TASTE like it (apparently it's a crumbly, dry cake and the chocolate and icing don't taste as they should).

Has anyone here tried this Tesco Tunis Cake who also remembers the McVitie's original ?

We always had a Tunis cake at Christmas and I remember the chocolate as being thick, hard to bite, rich and nice tasting. I remember eating the cake and keeping the chocolate for last.
I saw the Tesco one either last year or the year before so bought it thinking it would be a trip down memory lane, but like everything else, the quality has gone downhill and it was hard work to finish it. I can’t remember exactly what it was like, but I do remember being really disappointed. I think the chocolate topping had gone away from being a chocolate consistency and was a bit insipid.

M&S have a tunis cake. I have just ordered one for my christmas ocado delivery.
Might be nicer than the tesco one? (I hope so!)
