Hoping for advice on family history/ancestry type gifts. Hard to buy for dh has expressed an interest in finding out more about his family history. However, he is nc with his dad's side and not very tech savvy so unlikely to spend hours researching. Can anyone recommend anything that might work?

There are courses run on how to research your family tree. I found it all fascinating! Check with the staff at your local library or research options online.

If he is an absolute beginner how about membership of a family history group local to where his research would start. No guarantees that would be where his research would stay based but memberships is usually £10 - £15 per year.. so maybe a Santa present? He will be in touch with enthusiastic amateurs who really know their stuff and will point him in the right direction.
You could give him some cash in a fancy envelope to let him get his first certificates or whatever..
This could also lead him into basics of the internet... two birds/ one stone...😊
Be warned.. this is absolutely addictive!!
