Gift Ideas for Gardeners

Hello! 👋🏻

I was hoping I could have some suggestions for gifts that 'gardeners' would love.
For my mum; in her early 70's, keen gardener. Notoriously difficult to buy for.
She doesn't have any particular tastes, but likes a lot of colour.
Any suggestions, would be greatly received.

Decent gloves
Kevlar arm shields
A really good pair of secateurs
A Suffolk Trug
Barrier hand cream and hand scrub
Long handled tools
A Hawes watering can
A smart wheelbarrow
Kneeler pad/seat
Seed box

If she’s a keen gardener then she probably has her favourite tools and has a good idea of what she likes in her garden, therefore I would avoid any gifts sets with seeds and the typical gifts of tools in flowery patterns etc.
The first post nails it. Go for quality items that she might not buy for herself.
I’d also suggest items she could use whilst enjoying the garden. I garden and I love my rechargeable/battery/solar radio.

Niwaki tools. A Hori Hori knife is brilliant or the herbaceous sickle is my new favourite thing. Although very sharp so friends house much you trust a 70 year old with sharp objects. I wouldn't trust my dad!

I always get my mum tickets to the Chelsea Flower Show. I've done the same this year.

They're probably sold out now so a kneeler or some good pruning sheers might be a good idea.

Gardener’s World Magazine subscription or National Garden Voucher.

Last year I bought my elderly aunt thermal garden gloves as she still likes to potter outside in winter time and she said they have been very useful.

Gardening magazine subscription

Some really lovely suggestions - thank you!
Oh I'd have loved to have got her tickets to Chelsea Flower Show. My Grandpa used to take her, she's not been in many years (and I've never been!) I will have to be more 'on it' in future, with that suggestion 😊

Genus gardening trousers if you can run to it. Best thing I've ever bought - I live in them. Anything from the Niwaki catalogue.

Niwaki Hori Hori knife. Unusual enough that there’s a good chance she doesn’t already have one, brilliant bit of kit.

Garden centre voucher so she can choose something she wants.

I used to buy RHS Tatton Park tickets for my mum and her partner back when they could go, they can't any more so I've had to change tack.

I wouldn't be comfortable buying tools or plants for another gardener, the chances of my hitting on something they don't already have but desperately want (without helpful hints!) are way too slim. And nobody really has unlimited space to store tools they don't use or have already.
