Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Is it just me struggling to find some nice but cheap wrapping paper?! Studio where I used to get it from have hardly any and WHSmith have none at all!

My home bargains had quite a range and most was 99p for 4m. There were some for £1.49 (I think) which were shiny

I get 15% back from Boohoo man today via Airtime rewards. I know I’ve gone on about it but it is so easy to get money back off your phone bill.

Lots of beauty retailers there too today.

Edited

I've seen it before but can you explain what it is please

Sostrene Grene has lovely paper if there is one near you

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 19/11/2024 16:25

Not a bargain gift but just thought I'd share this, it's fab! I paid £8 about a month ago so not sure if it'll go down again before Christmas but if it does, I highly recommend it! Cuts the paper in seconds and makes wrapping enjoyable! Especially when used with the much loved tape dispenser I bought after someone posted it on here ☺️
Link isn't working so I'll share a pic with the details if anyone is interested in it ☺️

I've just spotted some on argos:

@hugsandpugs I'm sure you've checked online rather than wait for my reply Grin but yes online on their home page there's a big banner. I generally use the new in menu and sort it by newest

Card factory has good cheap paper this year - and unlike wh Smiths, the tear tabs actually work! I have bluey and the snowman/snowdog for the kids :)

VeruccaSalty · 19/11/2024 16:58

You guys are wise, are these ugg style boots likely to be fakes (as in not sheepskin). I mean I know they were probably never 200 but I just want to have warm feet.

If anyone needs a Vodafone code for the dog advent calendar, let me know. It's got a 1 hour limit on it so don't want to post and someone to miss out

Goodwin Smith have a couple of styles of slingback sheepskin slippers for £5. Not many sizes left but I got lucky as I’m a 6.
Delivery is £4.99, but a box popped up for a mystery offer of free shipping if I entered my email and phone number and a code came through via WhatsApp.

I have a pair of their regular sheepskin mules which are good quality and have lasted for well over a year. NOV10 gives 10% off everything but won’t stack with free delivery. Sheepskin slippers

Can anyone recommend a gaming PC for DSS please? He's never had one normallymplays PlayStation but now really wants one. Will only play Fortnite on it but everytime I look it's mind boggling, don't want to spend much and they seem to run up in to £££

I've asked DH for you and he recommends checking for the cheapest in the 3xs range on scan.com who have black Friday deals on ATM. We've bought custom PC's and individual parts from them before and found them to be great. He reckons that range will future proof it a bit but that you'll only need the cheapest for now. As long as you get a desktop and not a laptop then it can always be upgraded in the future.

I did 😂🙈 was hoping they had a Ralph Lauren white beanie that DS has asked for. Can’t seem to find it anywhere at a cheap price!

I agree - hoping that I get my suffragette mouse as it was the last one.... Its great to get bargains but also good to shop at little businesses and organisations that are doing good things - I still owe you a huge thank you for introducing me to Tazzies cashmere glove shop as I have now bought 6 pairs .....

❤️

I've just bought another three pairs as she kindly alerted me to new stock she's uploaded including some orange ones I was after. She's so lovely I'm going to send her a Christmas card!
