My friend has 2 little girls aged 3 and 6 whom I buy for Christmas. I get them fun presents but I always like to buy them a book each too but I can’t think of anything to get them.

I have bought the oldest a lot of Julia Donaldson books and I know she has all the Ronald Dahl books too. Little one I’ve bought a mixture and most recently a Tom Fletcher book. I’d be really grateful if anyone has any suggestions of books that would be appropriate for their ages. TIA

What about some if the ballet shoes books or Rainbow fairies for the 6 yo? Alternatively Holly Webb does some lovely books around animals, dd loved the Museum Cats ones.

For the 3 year old, I would look to picture books, the Supertato range are good. Or go for classics like winnie the pooh. Paddington etc

For the 6 year old, Amelia Fang would be ideal (it's a series).
For the 3 year old, I really loved reading Leo Lionni's books to mine at that age.

My DD who is also 6 loves the 'Daisy and the trouble with' collection of books

I haven’t heard of most of these but will check them all out. Thank you all!

My 3yo currently loves the You Choose books by Nick Sharrat and Pippa Goodhart, particularly the fairytales one, but they also have a Christmas one which might be nice?

Thanks @MotherWol just had a look and they look fun. They do have a Christmas version so that’s the youngest one sorted!

There's one called fearless fairy tales by Konnie Huq which my DD is enjoying at the moment

Winnie the witch stories are great with beautiful illustrations.
Some of my 3yo favourites are "you're called what", "the disgusting sandwich", "poo in the zoo", "come home already" and any of the oi frog books.
