I'm a useful gift sort of person, little bits and pieces gifts are wasted on me because I usually end up forgetting all about them 🤦🏻‍♀️
For my birthday in August I got a kindle and some walking boots as they were things I needed (ran out of book space) but for Christmas i'm stumped and my partner is nagging for a list of sorts. I have plenty of perfume and jewellery.
What have you asked for Christmas this year? Give me ideas for myself 🤣

Payment for some books to go on your kindle?

RespiceFinemKarma · 13/11/2024 09:32

Jumpers, magazine subscription, haircut vouchers, car valet, Thai massage, painter and decorator...those are things I'd love!

Forgottenmyphone · 13/11/2024 09:38

Velvetiser
Power bank
Photo printer
Picture frames
Dressing gown
Travel bag

Photo printer is a fantastic idea! Every year I make a scrapbook of everything we've done in the year but I use a website but I could do it myself with one of those! Love it, thank you! It's going on the list 😁

I like going to the theatre so would like tickets for that, I have a Friend's of the theatre account so get my tickets reduced so family will buy a gift voucher or cash for that. It means my Christmas presents are spread throughout the year too which is nice and doesn't result in having to store anything.

mondaytosunday · 13/11/2024 12:02

Tricky isn't it? My kids don't have much £ but are asking me. I've asked for a crochet book but I'm stumped as to what else I want/they can afford (one is at uni one is on minimum wage). A voucher is the least desirable as no joy for the buyer really.
These will be the only presents I'll have - my parents and husband have passed! My in laws are gone. I don't exchange gifts with friends. So it would be nice to have a couple things to open. I do get myself something but don't wrap it for under the tree.
A power bank might be an idea for me too! More a need than a want though.

Photo book, sanctuary stuff, dressing gown, notebooks, a hairdryer or a hoover(!)

Pipconkermash · 13/11/2024 15:28

Garmin Fenix watch, Beyerdynamic open back headphones, new Murdle book, a truffle, White Company bath robe, MacBook Pro, Cornishware crockery, Concept2 SkiErg, Lululemon gym wear, weekend at Estelle Manor, Ugg Tasman slippers.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 13/11/2024 15:30

If you had walking boots have you got some good warm socks to go with them?

HelenHywater · 13/11/2024 15:40

I want some of the furry birkenstock boston mules, a nice dressing gown and pjs (always love pyjamas - nice ones!).

I also always like cashmere, silver and candles.

I'd like a hoover too actually - one that washes and hoovers the floor.

How about a special evening or day out? Don't waste money buying things you don't need.

frozendaisy · 13/11/2024 18:01

Really expensive painting brushes, bit niche but basically whatever you like doing and would hesitate to get yourself the best of the range, ask for that.

StormySimon · 13/11/2024 18:03

Following! ☺️

destiel00 · 13/11/2024 18:07

Fairisle pattern nordic socks

Diptique candle

Voucher for local spa

Maybe some perfume (depending on sales/offers)

YorkieTheRabbit · 13/11/2024 18:14

My list has
Elemis cleansing balm
Hairdryer/styler not sure which one
Warm socks
Slippers
Hour glass made from antique bobbins, appreciate this isn’t something that you would want 😂 and a bobbin pen

WhoWhereWhatWhy · 13/11/2024 18:20

Elemis dynamic resurfacing cleanser

A watch with a different colour leather strap to the one I have - tan ideal

cashmere socks or cashmere v neck jumper (M&S for the jumper would be fine)

some boots

bubble bath - I am fussy so I’d have to give actual names eg lush rose jam, M&S fig and lotus flower, boots royal jelly (none of these are pricey, I just like them)

some new towels - the Margot Dalby patterned ones are really nice

white company Seychelles candle

VegTrug · 13/11/2024 18:25

You get Christmas gifts as an adult!? 🤨

Nicebloomers · 13/11/2024 18:34

Cook books
vouchers for the garden centre/ Sarah raven/ crocus
A heated throw blanket (god I love mine)
Cashmere scarf
Earrings
Neom oil blends for the pod thing
A facial

Needmorelego · 13/11/2024 18:44

@VegTrug don't most adults?

thereisamouseinthehouse · 13/11/2024 19:31

I had a Freddie's Flowers subscription last year which has made me very happy all year.
Candles - but ones I actually like so I gave MIL a list of suggestions for her to choose from
Shower gel - again, ones I actually like so gave a list of suggestions
Some hyacinths
I am loving the Trinny stacking eye shadows and would like a couple more of those
I always appreciate some new socks.
A bottle of Baileys. I could easily put it on the online supermarket order but it's a useful thing to suggest to someone
A book someone has enjoyed and thinks I'll enjoy - especially if it is an author I don't know and I can then read all of their books
I quite fancy trying BrickBorrow

ChristmasIsComing2024 · 17/11/2024 15:12

I’ve asked for some of my Photobooks to be printed as I make yearly ones and then smaller ones for holidays but rarely get around to having them printed as they’re too expensive!! I am getting two holiday ones and if I can get it finished in time, last years yearly one printed as gifts this year!! 🤗🥰

I’ve also asked for some books and chocolate 😋

wwyd2021medicine · 20/12/2024 12:26

Not too late to ask for hiking socks to go with your boots! Some are £25+ a pair but I have some of the mountain warehouse ones too and they are lovely. I've started wearing them recently day to day 😊

theallotmentqueen · 20/12/2024 12:29

What about an experience rather than an object? Eg tickets to the theatre, day trip out that your partner plans.

UdoUboo · 20/12/2024 18:55

A boot bag for your new walking boots! Keeps them nice and tidy, especially when they’re in the car, and less then £10. I got myself one for Christmas as well as one for my wellies - I’m sick of them rolling around my car boot/getting separated in the under-stairs cupboard.
