What do I want for Christmas?

Or I suppose what I really want to know is what are you asking for/ or what would you treat yourself to for around £50 if it's easier to think that way?

DH and I have set a budget of that much each for a gift to the other person.

I've no idea what I actually want/ what hints to be dropping! He has asked for a bit of guidance - doesn't always but apparently he needs a steer this year, him and me both!

Nicer problem to have, to feel I don't massively need anything I guess. And I'd tell him just to leave it or bank it for a future time but I know he wants to get me something and I guess I'd like to have something to open too.

So what would you like/ are you asking for - maybe there will be some inspiration in there for me!

I asked for the book Dessert Person by Claire Saffitz, her recipes are fantastic and I can not wait to try more of them out. I know DH has already bought it for me.

For my birthday this year I got a lovely Kate Spade pendant, it was one some crazy sale so I also got the matching earrings. I am usually not a big jewellery person but these are lovely, quite understated and matches a lot of outfits. It's a small gold-coloured heart and little heart studs.

Hope this helps :)

If there's nothing you want or need why not pool resources for a short break away somewhere in the new year as your present to each other? Or a National Holidays coach trip weekend if you can't be bothered with the hassle of booking accommodation and planning an itinerary, etc.

Then just have the usual chocs and plonk as stocking fillers to unwrap on Christmas Day.

Subscription for something of interest?

I would give him a list of a few things and let him choose so still a surprise.

Maybe give him links to nice PJ’s or a dressing gown, underwear, jumper or trousers.

Links to make up and smelly stuff if thats your thing.

Links to several books.

Voucher for spa treatment or pottery class or whatever floats your boat etc.

Links to a nice bracelet, necklace or earrings.

An Xbox controller, mines drifting. new slippers ( but I'd have to tell him which ones,)Oodie type thing , probably a cheaper one from Amazon as it's not cold enough for my Kuddly.
Lipstick in a stunning holder.

Thanks for the ideas all.

We did a night away for our joint birthday gifts. I'd be happy to pool it for something for both of us but he had something he specifically wanted for his gift which I've got him. It's also not so easy to get babysitters for meals out/ especially not nights away and we've kind of used up our quota recently as had a few events on.

I've sent him a few links to some ideas, he can either pick one or find something in a similar vein. They just feel a bit 'frivolous', I think we've got into the habit of getting slightly more practical gifts like a new kindle when mine was knackered, something for a hobby etc - but they're all lovely things that I'd like to receive which I guess is the point of a gift!
