John Lewis sewing machines ?

I haven't seen since schooldays (back in the dark ages) 😂

I was thinking the other day about maybe making a few "simple" craft things - eg with straight lines (!)

At the back of my mind it triggered a thought that recently I had heard of maybe read that these machines in JL were good for straightforward projects/beginners - I looked online and they are certainly pretty but are they any good ?

It would also help that every year when my lovely DB asks what I would like and I have no idea that I could this year ask for the machine (it would be in budget as when I can't tell him anything he usually buys me Jo Malone or Diptyque items and a voucher for M&S)

TIA

Yes they are good. I have the JL110; it's made by Janome which is a good make. I've made clothes, bags, cushion covers. It struggles a bit with lots of layers of thick cloth but I've made a canvas backpack and hemmed jeans ok with it.

I also have a John Lewis one made by Janone. I don't use it that much but it seems to do everything I ask of it!
