I've started adding items to my weekly online shop for various stockings I make up. Wondered if anyone else had ideas for small and interesting food items. I'll share my list first:
Quick Milk Magic Sipper Milkshake Straws
Bubble tea sachets
Dr Oetker Pud in mug sachet
Chocolate coins

One year, I did a hot chocolate 'kit' from Mrs Claus with hot chocolate, marshmallows and squirty cream and flakes. I have to do it every year now - I didn't bother one year and they were outraged! (One of them is nearly an adult!!)

This is a great idea!

Waitrose had a bunch of half price gift type things the other day - Kath Kidson and Bayliss+Harding sets all nicely packaged, a construct your own metal big Ben set, and their finest Xmas puds all sizes were money off, I think by a third - got a few mini ones. A few smaller gift sets half price in boots too - £4 for duo set of lynx Africa, for those of you with teenage boys.

Tesco have some great fun hot chocolate accessories. Mine are getting mallow toppers, gingerbread house mug huggers, and make your own hot chocolate bomb kits. My friend is getting that with Baileys squirty cream.

Chocolate spread from Bon Mamman for DD2 and fancy piccalilli for DD1.

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 21/11/2024 23:19

Great thread

Miniature Christmas pudding (possibly with a sachet of instant custard). Also include a bag of their favourite boiled or jelly sweets, like humbugs or festive Percy Pigs from M&S Food Hall.

Confusedmeanderings · 22/11/2024 01:11

Great idea for a thread! Nobody's mentioned an orange for the toe of the stocking!

JustinThyme · 22/11/2024 01:38

Thanks, @MissyB1 - DD discovered Baby Guinness cocktails so this will be perfect for her stocking. DH works near a Morrison’s so I’ll get him to look at lunchtime next week.

Whatamess23 · 22/11/2024 08:47

I put in a Terry's chocolate orange for the toe of the stocking!

Oh and was just reading back, my DC ranging in age from 4 - 9 love Kinder eggs and kinder joys.

For any Harry Potter/Funko Pop fans, they are currently doing Harry Potter funko pop themed kinder joys, which DD aged 9 was been excited about.

Unfortunately I did them to death over Halloween! But I did stash some away 🤭

SilverDoe · 22/11/2024 18:05

Ohhh and sorry to spam the thread but mine all (including DP) love Cadbury Puds, they're a great stocking sized filler

EllaPaella · 22/11/2024 19:25

Asda are doing Rudolph slippers - just bought 3 pairs for my 3 boys.
Sainsburys have fleecy Christmas PJ's and 25% off. The Sainburys Christmas candle is the nicest smelling one I've ever had (the red one).

Soy sauce wearing a Santa hat - I found it in Waitrose

Various kinds of hot chilli sauce - Langhams sweet chilli is my favourite

look in the world food aisle- all sorts of interesting things

Variety of mustards - dp loves this

bun cases and sprinkles etc for baking

Nuts / Bombay mix

Cans of interesting beers

Printedword · 22/11/2024 22:40

Coop had some Simply Cook meal kit boxes that were a neat size. I used some in DCs uni cooking ideas box. I love the idea of the Christmas Dinner Pot Noodle but my DC was offended by inclusion of a pot noodle in his survival kit 🤣

Genius thread! Any idea when in an actual Sainsbury's they would shelve the magic milk straws? I looked yesterday in the tea/coffee/hot chocolate but and couldn't see any.

Haven't read the whole thread yet but in case you still need to know they're located by longlife milk / almond milk etc not by tea/coffee

OhCobblers · 23/11/2024 08:48

Oh and 25% off all Xmas gifts in Sainsburys currently. Great selection. I'm particularly thrilled with the novelty pizza cutter for DS reduced to £3.75!

GettingStuffed · 23/11/2024 08:52

Tesco do a salted caramel mixed nibbles it's gorgeous.

I'd do a link but I'm just on my way out for a food festival. Luckily some of it is indoors

This maybe obvious but they were in the Christmas section at my store, near the alcohol gift packs.
Glad you like the look of them!

Spotted these in Aldi just now.
