I've started adding items to my weekly online shop for various stockings I make up. Wondered if anyone else had ideas for small and interesting food items. I'll share my list first:
Quick Milk Magic Sipper Milkshake Straws
Bubble tea sachets
Dr Oetker Pud in mug sachet
Chocolate coins

Genius thread! Any idea when in an actual Sainsbury's they would shelve the magic milk straws? I looked yesterday in the tea/coffee/hot chocolate but and couldn't see any.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 14/11/2024 19:23

For a dd who loved them I used to buy a tin of black cherries for her stocking.
Small packets of soft dried apricots or dried mango are IMO v nice.

CeeJay81 · 14/11/2024 19:48

I've got these from tesco for my kids stockings. Mine love their hot chocolate.

I have seen them in B&M and home bargains but not in a Sainsbury's!

Snorlaxo · 18/11/2024 19:50

Magic straws will be by the Nesquik. I buy them at B&M or Morrisons.

Apologies if I have repeated anything

Treaclemoon have some nice limited edition shower gels in Gingerbread sort of smells. Brazilian Love smells like Sol de Janeiro and they do a Lush Snow Fairy dupe too.

Aldi currently have Lush shower gels dupes Sweet Angel smells like Snow Fairy and the other smell is called Maple.

M&S have a spread that tastes like the middle of a Kinder Bueno

Teens will enjoy some instant noodles so they can make a snack when everyone has gone to bed and they are still awake. Shin Ramyun and Buldak are very spicy if that’s their preference

@GettingStuffed does he like gentlemen's relish?I buy it off Amazon

For ds I've got a Christmas dinner flavour pot noodle sauce and biscuit flavoured tea!

That's genius (in a really disgusting way!) Just added one to the order for DS's stocking

Agree, the pot noodle sounds pretty bizarre but it's a bit of fun!

I got these in M&S today for Christmas Eve boxes (I do Christmas Eve boxes for my adult children who have moved out and they get more modest Christmas gifts). Great for Stockings

Hot Choc Bombs, just £2

Hot Chocolate Bombe | M&S

Hot Chocolate Bombe | M&S

Our Hot Chocolate Bomb is essential for cosy nights in. The hollow milk chocolate sphere bursts open with marshmallows when warmed, creating a rich, creamy hot chocolate experience.

Has anyone seen the bonne maman cocolate spread in the special Christmas jar?

DazedAndConfused321 · 18/11/2024 21:15

I always do fun teabags and coffees- this year the malty biscuit tea for a few stockings, posh loose leaf for some, and nescafe have a new flavoured coffee range- vanilla or caramel which will go down well.

Mini bottles of wine or tins of cocktails/mocktails

A mug, expensive hot choc and marshmallows goes down well

a nice shower gel- either a novelty christmassy scent or just a nice imperial leather.

My sister loves cleaning products so every year I get her random cleaning supplies- this year I think it'll be mainly filled with Zoflora!

DilemmaDelilah · 19/11/2024 19:27

From B&M rather than the supermarket:
Mini bottle of prosecco
Bubble bath
Shower scrunchy thingy
Tube of Smarties
Chocolate coins
Face mask
Christmas decoration
Socks
Rubber duck dressed as santa

Lots of other things I could have got but officially I don't do Christmas stockings for adults not living at home any more. (She's coming home for Christmas and would have been the only person without one...)

mrsfeatherbottom · 19/11/2024 19:32

My kids (teens now) always get a box of rubbishy cereal that we wouldn't normally have - like Cookie Crisp or Reese's.

Chimchar · 19/11/2024 19:43

I always buy my dad a box of posh coffee bags.

I get the young adult kids some fancy tins of cocktails or miniature bottles of booze.

Everyone gets a tube of Pringles in their favourite flavour and a can of full fat coke with a Santa on the can.

Curiously cinnamon would be my choice. 😋

I8toys · 21/11/2024 11:19

Tesco Finest nut trays - I get these every year and they go down well - they have a blonde version this year
MOTH cocktail tins
Lindt choco wafers

MissyB1 · 21/11/2024 11:27

Openmouthinsertfood · 21/11/2024 21:07

@Snorlaxo , do you know what the M & S spread is called? Sounds delicious!

@MissyB1 That made me laugh! Xmas Grin

SilverDoe · 21/11/2024 21:32

My DC love those little boxes of Panda biscuits that come in the imported section of Asda and Tesco.

They also absolutely love the very similar little chocolate biscuit mushrooms (they stole all of mine!). They're called Chocorooms. I love the pink flavours of both, but they also come in regular chocolate varieties. They're only £1 or so!

Lelophants · 21/11/2024 21:35

Bubbles
mini book
some cute pen/stationary
stickers
Lindt bear
selection of single chocolate bars
fluffy socks

Lelophants · 21/11/2024 21:36

Herbal teas (I liked the mixed selection pukka)
coffee bags
fun hot chocolates

levantine · 21/11/2024 21:39

No one has yet mentioned the disgusting marshmallow fluff my dcs love and that I would never ordinarily buy

That reminds me of the disgusting candy floss in a pot my dd used to try and sneak in the trolley!!!

Judellie · 21/11/2024 21:59

I put their favourite brands of
shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and deodorant in all the stockings I do.
Also chocolate coins, socks, gloves, scratch card.
Hair accessories for DD. Hankies sometimes (remember being a bit miffed that the boxes of men's hankies in Bon Marche were cheaper than the ladies, despite the men's not having a nasty scratchy lacy bit AND being bigger than the ladies ones).
DD loves the chocolate snowman mousses that Cadbury used to do but unfortuantely I have just read that they have been discontinued.
When my two were little, I sometimes got them an apron each too and that went in the stocking.
