I’ve just found out my dd’s partner is staying over at Christmas, I would like a few things for him to open, I’m sure I’ve read on the bargain threads in the past years of cheapish novelty but useful/unusual kitchen gadgets but can’t remember any now that I need them. Any ideas appreciated x

Would he want work related gifts? My DD gets fed up because she pays out for her (cooking) tools and gets what she needs. Talk it over with your DD. He still wants personal gifts, unless you buy someone working in admin, pens.

Have a look at The Burnt Chef project, they have stuff aimed at chefs and they also support hospitality workers with their mental health and are a great resource for anyone in hospitality.
(No I don't work for them, just like the cause 🤣 and it's where I've got some bits for co workers)
And pens - chefs are buggers for losing and then nicking someone else's pen 🤣.

I would go here and get some kind of interesting or delicious food.

Sous chef, I bought DDs budding chef friend a Stone notebook, the pages are water and greaseproof so perfect for the kitchen.

Thanks everyone, dd said not to get anything proper as he is pretty well off so likes to buy his own type of stuff & pretty much buys anything he needs himself so it’s quirky fun gifts I’m after. Or traditional fun things

Small tub of smoked sea salt.
Jar of chilli oil with crispy chilli flakes.

A paella pan if he doesn’t already have one. Not expensive and great fun.

In all honesty I'd steer clear of anythinf "cheffy" he'll have the good stuff and the novelty stuff will be a waste of money

Alessi Walnut opener

Why? Unless he's going to suddenly cook walnuts all the time what's the point

GettingStuffed · 12/11/2024 20:05

I'd love one of the glasses with the animals at the bottom from souschef

You'll just be buying a cheap version of what he probably has... maybe slippers or something etc

He'll have an apron and a pizza wheel

I'd go for some really nice shower gel and some peppermint foot spray
