Fortnum & Mason Best Buys

My Mum has hinted she would really like a hamper from Fortnum & Mason this year.

Having never bought from them before, could anyone offer advice on some of the best items from them? There’s so much to choose from and it all sounds incredible.

They do amazing biscuits in cylindrical tins.

This won't be a cheap present but god I'd love to be given a Fortnums hamper!

If she likes mints then get their Icy Mints in dark chocolate. They are divine!

The salted caramel biscuits are amazing but taste nothing like salted caramel which is nasty stuff. The praline version my mum loves. They come in gorgeous cylindrical boxes that make good pencil cases for a desk or table. My mum keeps her glasses, a pen, and bits and bobs in hers on her tv table.

The champagne truffles are lovely and don't contain palm oil.

Royal blend tea.

The chocolate library bars are lovely gifts and good value. I like the champagne one and the raspberry one.

Tea, marmalade and pots of Stilton. Their Christmas puddings are also good. Personally I think their biscuits are a bit disappointing, but the tins are lovely.

The Christmas pudding in the ceramic bowl

Any of the biscuit tins

They delivered mine recently on the wrong day, to the wrong address, without the wicker basket. So I'm very upset with them. I'm really surprised too

I ordered a hamper two weeks ago for delivery next week. It cost £140. I’ve just gone back on their site and the same hamper is now £125 so I’m disappointed.

@TherebytheGraceofGodgoI if you haven't got it yet can you cancel the order and re buy it?

Otherwise don't sweat it. Hampers are rarely "value" gifts. It's pretty much the difference between getting a small packet of their Christmas Coal or not.

I always have the following in my pantry:
Rose petal jelly
Blood orange marmalade
Fig and lemon preserve
Sweet orange, bergamot and lemon marmalade

All that extra bit special, none of which you can get anywhere else AFAIK. I'm poor but I do think they're worth having.

Can I just say the mince pies are rubbish. I got the almond ones and they are horrible a real hard crunchie topping and hardly any mincemeat. I won’t be buying them from there again. You can’t beat their marmalades though
