Temporarynameforthisone · 10/11/2024 15:09

I’ve offered to make a chocolate hamper to be raffled at my childrens primary school Christmas fair, there will be other raffle prizes.

So far I have in the hamper

Bottle of Baileys chocolate liqueur
Next chocolate scented candle
Cadbury chocolate house kit
Big box of Benedict mints (Tesco £6 instead of £12 on club card)
Big box of Ferrero Rocher
Box of Teasers chocolates
Terrys chocolate orange
Pack of x3 chocolate stirrers
Pack of x3 chocolate bombs
Big Toblerone
Tube of elf smarties
Bag of chocolate coins

What else would you like to see in a chocolate hamper?

Chocolate matchmakers? Hollow chocolate Santa?
Tbh I wouldn't want the baileys in a chocolate hamper 🤢

Orange or mint matchmakers? 😊

Does the Baileys sound a bit yuk? Maybe I should swap for a nice hot chocolate making kit instead.

Oh yes hollow Santa! Must get one of those.

Chocolate covered Brazil nuts. They do lovely ones in sainsbury's. We're not allowed to put alcohol in the school raffles! Fancy hot chocolate. Truffles.

TeenToTwenties · 10/11/2024 15:17

Sounds plenty.
The Baileys does mean that a child can't/shouldn't win it though so I'd be tempted to swap it out.

Cuppachuchu · 10/11/2024 15:20

Oh no! You're going to have to drink the Baileys yourself OP.

Temporarynameforthisone · 10/11/2024 15:21

Cuppachuchu. Damn! 🤣

You just have to be careful including the Baileys if children can enter the raffle. If they are drawn they can't win the prize.

I'd add some of the christmassy cadbury range so

Snowballs/robins/ mini puds or a bar of the christmassy cadbury that is milk and white chocolate shaped like mini christmas trees

Mini lindt bears (or one bigger one for impact)

Heroes/celebrations

If fair is before Dec 1st add an advent calendar

fruitpastille · 10/11/2024 15:22

Sounds more than generous already. Bit of nice packaging and you are done! Adults usually buy the tickets so I wouldn't worry about alcohol.

Temporarynameforthisone · 10/11/2024 15:22

Hmm think I’ll take Baileys out and put Brazil nuts in (Thank you for suggestion)

BrioLover · 10/11/2024 15:23

Sounds fab! Our school doesn't accept nuts, even in raffle prizes, so I'd check that before wrapping it up.

Temporarynameforthisone · 10/11/2024 15:24

i probably should check the schools policy on nuts in raffle prizes. Damn if I have to eat the Ferrero chocs and drink the Baileys! 🤣

Baileys is yuk but I also would check what the school think as to whether they want alcohol in the hamper, they might do separate alcohol hampers to ensure only adults can win them

Mint matchmakers are my fave!

Hayley1256 · 10/11/2024 15:45

I'd love the baileys in a hamper, a child can still win it but it would have to be collected by a parent. I'd add in some hot chocolate stuff and some chocolate Brazil nuts, maybe some florentines

hattie43 · 10/11/2024 18:49

IMO it's more a selection for adults rather than children . For a family I'd ditch the Baileys , mints , chocolate candle thing and add chocolate Santa , Lindt bunnies / teddies , heroes , more milk chocolate .

Longleggedblond · 10/11/2024 19:09

Chocolate candles and toiletries eg cocoa butter

Leeds2 · 10/11/2024 19:15

I'm sure I have bought chocolate toothpaste (Amazon) a few years ago.

Pinkkisugarmouse · 10/11/2024 19:39

Ditch the Baileys. Maybe add some posh chocolate biscuits instead. Goes with the theme but it’s still just a bit different.

🤮 That’s truely horrible. What an abomination. But then 🤷🏻‍♀️ each to their own I suppose.

It absolutely is! But it was well received.

(Not by me!).

Exactly. What we think is disgusting and/or bizarre can be that ideal unusual gift for someone else.

Happiestwhen · 10/11/2024 19:53

Wow how can people not like Baileys?!! 😲 😅

Temporarynameforthisone · 10/11/2024 20:53

I’ve listened to everyone 😊

I’m going to add
M&S extremely chocolate biscuits
Cadbury Christmas puddings chocs
Hollow Santa
Matchmakers
